I dont think Spike beats Lee either but after Spikes performance on Saturday it would be good to see his career progress with the promotional backing it deserves.:deal

We all know the "common opponent" theory hardly ever applies in boxing, Marty, but Spike just did flatten a guy who Andy barely s****ed through against, didn't he?

I wouldn't be too sure Andy could handle Spike at all....

Andy had a night off with Fitz,
Look at Vera 1 and then Vera 2 Andy put a schooling on him, Chavez couldn't put him down even as big as he was, so should we draw comparison's to JccJr? No
Because we saw that fight, Spike wasn't calling Lee's name out after the fight cause he knows Macklin's style will suit him and Lee is too much for him.

Off night with Fitz, okay, fair enough - explain Horta?

    Rounds 1-4 against Jackson?

Were those off nights as well?

...because that means since the Chavez loss he is having 60% off nights. (3/5)

Didn't see the Horta fight. Also take into consideration the transition of moving
stewards death and moving down, there's gonna be some ups and downs, that's what the Jackson fight was, Andy has the skills to beat most guys but sometimes it looks he couldn't be bothered in the ring, and there the fights were he looks ****.

All these pro kids are 24 or under: Conrad Cummings, Jason Quigley, Ray Ginley, Sean Turner, Tommy McCarthy, Dee Waldo Walsh, Tyrone McKenna, Declan Geraghty, Jono Carroll, James Tennyson, Daniel McShane, Marco McCullough and Ryan Burnett. John Joe Nevin & Philip Sutcliffe are 25. I don't see a headliner among them, yet, but picture what an ambitious Irish promoter could do with them in the coming years. Then there's Mick Conlan, Joe Ward in the amateurs. In a couple years we'll be grand but unless Andy Lee or Stephen Ormond win and win big on Dec 13, we'll struggle in the south again for a while.

I think Spike was only a part time boxer. The difference this time was that t
He purse was such that he could afford to take a full time training camp. I imagine its made a massive difference. If lukekiko can train full time should help his cause ten fold too.

    I always wondered....

Did Irish Jerry Quarry from Bellflower California

(also known as the Bellflower Bomber) get any love in Ireland ?

The people on here weren't even born when Quarry was active.
Very tragic guy, quarry, by the way.

Hellava fighter though ! He was leaps and bounds beyond any Irish fighter I've ever seen. Particularly the ones you guys are mentioning. His skills are far superior to any Irish fighter I've ever seen.
