HBO offering $3 million for Klitschko-Jennings

Jennings will take the fight. He's from Philly!

 

Well, Jennings is certainly a better choice than Briggs. That said, it might be in his best interests to move up the WBC ladder rather than attempting to climb Mt. Klitschko with rollerskates and no harness.
Then again, the money might be too good to pass up as he'll probably make more against Wlad than he will in his next 5 fights combined.

 

I always thought he made more that's why he stayed in Germany ..Bigger gate bigger etc ..I'm surprised that he would take just 3 ..

 

Jennings will give a good fight if he fights Klitschko. The guy is a real hard worker. He trained and worked a hard physical job as a warehouse mechanic for years. Now, he just focuses on training. I saw him interviewed and he really knows boxing. He talked about the importance of pivoting while one punches, never backing up straight and setting traps. He admires and is a follower of Hopkin's old school boxing techniques. As previous posters have pointed out he is quite the boxing physical specimen, tall with very long arms. Wlad better not underestimate him but then Wlad, like Sugar Ray Leonard before him never underates an opponent.

 

He gets 50% from the commercials. So it looks something like this. 30 seconds commercial costs 125000€. Between rounds there are two commercials. He normally fights till the eight, ninth round. That makes 125000€*8. 1 mil€ for commercials, 4 for the fight + tickets and revenue + TV rights in the whole world. He makes IMO at least 7- 10 mil for each fight. And now plus 2.5 Form the HBO offer. He will make good money against Jennings. Probably at lowest 10 mil. Jennings will get 1.5 mil€. Thats really good money for a dead Division guys.

 

Looks like it isn't going to happen.

Jennings said he wants to wait for the Stiverne vs Wilder fight and then claim his mandatory spot to face the winner. Obviously Jennings is a very patient man.

 

Ironically enough, it's the extra commercial revenue he gets that makes me wonder if he doesn't carry guys a few extra rounds than he needs to.

Even against Pulev, he took his foot off the gas in the first.

 

If Stiverne wins, then he's going to be entitled to a voluntary ....which means Jennings would be waiting for quite a while. Jennings certainly would earn more by fighting Klitschko rather than Stiverne.

 

Quite simply Jennings will get more money fighting Klitschko and the opportunity to win more belts. Plus the fight can happen much sooner than the WBC title. I think Jennings takes the fight. They both have HBO deals so there is no network nonsense to interfere. It is called "prize" fighting.

6'2 vs 6'4.5 and he won't be able to compete strength wise with Klychko like Pulev could in clinches and whatnot. He's got long reach but other than that there is a huge size disparity.

He's the same height as Povetkin and in spite of Jennings more impressive looking physique i wouldn't be surprised if Sasha was functionally stronger. Sasha has a Fedor Emelianenko thing going on, Fedor may have only been 230lbs and slightly chubby looking but no HW in his weight range was remotely as strong.

 

100% sure he makes his fights longer to make more money.

 

Im reading now that Jenings want shot at WBC and that can be obstacle to Klitschko - Jenings. Klitschko want this fight, but Jenings maybe not ....
I hope this fight happen. Cause if this match fail, Klitschko voluntary defences will be against Briggs.

 

That's what I fear too. Hope it's Jenni, and if not maybe some other easy touch but please not Briggs.

 

I doubt Jennings people let this happen next.
