So IB is probably living it up in some vVegas vBrothel right now. It's like they say, at the end the vHouse always wins :yep
Maybe I misread the tone of your comment, or the series of positive descriptions of Perez made it sound like you had a better opinion of his abilities. Perhaps I'm an *******, because I don't waste praise on guys who don't look tip of the top elite. But sure, all of that is true of Perez, and he would definitely kick my ass. In the moment I read it though, it looked like you were building him up, and saying that he had a lot to be proud of, and that cuts directly against what BoxingNews24Forum is all about. The man has a loss on his record now and we are meant to taunt, mock, and jeer at him until we crush his career and self-confidence back into the earth. This is no time for compliments, however misguided or true. He's a loser. His parents were losers, and most likely his children will be losers too. Seriously though, Mike Perez is alright. I wouldn't say that a victory over him is as conclusive as one over say Stiverne or Fury, and personally I'd like more evidence before I start bestowing laurels, but it's a nice start.
I'd have lost all mine a couple of times by now if I could figure out how to gamble with it. Donaire vs Rigondeaux, Donaire vs Walters, Pacquiao vs Bradley, Pacquiao vs Marquez IV, Martinez vs Cotto. Every time I think I have boxing figured out, I learn that I don't know **** about boxing.
Jennings would be a good opponent for a voluntary defence. Question is will he be tempted by what is on offer. K2 are not known for paying opponents well for voluntary defences. Pulev only got 20% of a $7.25 million purse bid which is only $1.45 million. Leapai got $1.5 million and most voluntary opponents get about a $1 million. Would $1 maybe $1.5 million be enough to convince Jennings to give up a shot at the Stiverne/Wilder winner? If the fight is in the US, German TV would not pay as much due to the awkward time of a fight in the US. I suspect this $3 million offer would have to increase to make it worth while for Wlad and to provide a purse big enough to convinve Jennings to give up his mandatory shot which would earn him a similar amount and then provide him a potentially even bigger pay day for a unification fight.
Briggs could be a good stay busy option after Jennings, no doubt Fury and/or Stiverne/Wilder is well into 2015 now.
Agreed. I hope Wladimir guns for Stiverne/Wilder and the last green belt right away. Do you think the winner would be forced into an immediate unification with Klitschko? But on the other hand, Jennings is the only plausible option for a fight in the States on HBO this Spring. Bring it on.
You were just swimming with the current there, Boers (that's my new thing for you, by the way, in answer to Ibes, since "Ox" was coined by...I don't know, someone in the GTMSBT rank and file, not me anyway, so not really our thing...incidentally, the word is Dutch/Afrikaans for "agricultural worker", so - perfect for you, no? ) - no shame in that. Kind of like when I blew my entire wad (no euphemo) on Malignaggi vs. Senchenko going Over. :-( Sometimes the Boer eats you!!!
Seriously if this happens at MSG or Barclay's and the undercard is remotely decent, we should have an east coast gathering. :cheers Undefeated American challenging for THE world heavyweight title in NYC?
It's about time we see a fight for the heavyweight crown in the States, the Mecca. Vitali/Arreola was the last one, right? 5 freaking years ago.
Ugh, I hate acknowledging that. :verysad Stupid Vitali. Why couldn't he just lose his belt in the ring like a man and not create this awkward situation?
