Groves knocks him silly in a 3rd fight and goes 2-1! He chatted too much **** in the build up to the rematch and froze on the big stage but GG beats Froch 7 or 8 times out of 10
He dropped Froch with a flash knockdown, then gassed out and got he **** knocked out of him while stumbling around like a drunken sailor. When I pointed this out here in this very forum I was attacked by 5 dozens of Groves fanboys explaining me how Froch's era was over and Groves is the next big thing. I told them Groves is very arrogant and is unwilling to learn from his mistakes then they labelled me a Froch fanboy. Where are these little dip****s now? deal:deal
I'm a fan of both fighters that's just my opinion, deal with it. Groves was winning the 2nd fight handily before he got sloppy and he would have won the first if not for the disgraceful stoppage :deal
Understandably so. That's a very one-sided, baiting assessment. A more realistic, unbiased assessment is that both fighters hurt each other at points, the fight shouldn't have been stopped when it was and Groves was ahead when that stoppage occured. Yes Groves is very arrogant, as is Froch and many other boxers. I think Groves is willing to learn from his mistakes, he fought the second fight very different to how he fought the first. The thing is he is not going to completely get rid of all of his flaws in the space of two fights plus Froch fought a different and improved fight the second time around.
I also had it the same as HBO up until the right hand pearler from Froch.. Jim Watt's commentary & the Sky scoring was bizarre and it also makes your casual fan actually think Froch was all over him, not the case. Fair play to Froch though, all the credit in the world for landing that shot on such a big stage. Groves was doing well but made a crucial mistake.
Difference is froch's arrogance is justified on the back of his record. Grove going into the fight was acting as if he was alread a hall of famer with only degale as a big name on his record.
Its a funny old game boxing. I had it froch ahead by 1. He was clearly controlling the fight far better this time round. But its all about opinions
Many fighters make excuses for their losses. It's a coping mechanism to deal with the reality of the fact they could be stepping in the ring to take a beating or worse killed. Most fighters have supreme confidence and delude themselves when they lose otherwise they'd be scared every time they stepped into the ring. So I can forgive Groves for his views on both fights with Froch.
It is now but Froch has been arrogant since he was at Groves career stage, before he had proven what he has now. Froch started dismissing Groves as an opponent and saying his breath smells so Groves responded as many people would. Groves isn't then going to say "I haven't achieved much yet, Froch has achieved much more so he's probably going to beat me". They both acted as you would expect boxers to act imo.
I had it 4-3 groves what I meant was every round could have gone either way it was an extremely close fight.
I was chatting *******s in that last post, I didn't have it 5-2 Groves, just checked my notes on my phone and found my scorecard - sad b*stard I know... I had it 4-3 to Groves, with rounds 5 clear to Froch and round 7 clear to Groves & Groves winning the 8th until he got bingo'd.
