Where are these rose colored glasses everyone keeps talking about? Can I buy a pair? Would it further improve the experience of what are already great fights involving great fighters?

I only had plain old eyesight when I watched some of the greatest fights in Heavyweight history the first time around and in subsequent re-views. I'm hoping, if I can get a pair of these specially tinted specs, that it will make watching these fights again even better than before.

I wonder why you think the Internet would have seen any difference in the public perception of Ali, Frazier and Foreman, had it been around in their day. Ali was a hate figure, even without the Internet; Foreman didn't exactly endear himself to the public with his plain, yet fearsome and brooding nature. Frazier was (became) the 'People's Champion' and I cannot see why he would have been ripped for his valiant efforts against the other two Greats of the era.

Too much is made of numbers - particularly numbers without context which, if really looked into yield very little of substance - unlike signature contests that live in the memory - tinted specs or not.

I'm afraid no. Wlad's damn good by any standard, despite the low level opposition currently. Still, Lewis would brutalize him and Ali would plain kill him. Won't be a walk in the park for bot of them, though.

your theory is that losing only to the best of their generation makes them somehow better.

heres a question that you or anyone need to take into account after taking away the loss to wlad

who the hell has sam peter beaten?
    who has Wach ever beaten?
Byrd has a few good wins, but nothing to write home about.

instead of being famous for losing to Wlad, tell e who they are famous for at least winning a match again ................:think

Really good post. He is definitely one of the most underrated champions there has been. One more thing to add, though I feel Forman would beat him, how many of the ATGs actually faced anyone his size. Size plays a huge factor and I feel most of them couldn't take a punch from him but so well.

Agreed. I think Wlad is a sensational boxer, and absolutely top 10 HW all time with potential to climb higher. But who cares how many guys he has beaten that were undefeated. That in itself means absolutely nothing. It's more a sign of the times, where contenders are brought up slowly and carefully, not wanting to risk a loss before they get their eventual title shots. That type of thing is far more common these days, and one of the things that I don't think is particularly good for the sport.

Wlad is super dominant, does not lose a round most fights. The fact people are looking to Joshua now as the only hope of ending his reign says it all, there is nobody to match him and when he does retire we will be back to abc champions who last one or two mandatory defenses at most.
