Just got a text saying Sky are actually asking the question... Bellew Vs Cleverly III? Are they taking the ****?
Sorry Eddie your card turned out to be so ****. As for NYE 2000 I at least expected some decent drugs and a ropey tart for the night, didn't even get that.
Cleverly just seemed aweful. One minute he was jabbing, moving (all he waa doing) then he basically sat on the ropes, not like Bellew was pushing him back in the first 6 rounds. To be honest, when he mentioned the 3rd fight, sounded like he could hardly breathe in between talking, looked absolutely ****ed in his corner, didn't seem right at all.
When I heard split decision part of me thought it would be hilarious if they robbed bellew, but in reality they're never good for the sport, no matter how big of a ***** is getting robbed.
Because he is not a natural cruiserweight. Cleverly and Bellew were not really far if at all above European level at light heavy with Cleverly being a bit better I would say they're both British level now.
Now that the dust has settled a bit let's have an objective look at things. 1. It was a great night of boxing. 2. The card was stacked. 3. The main event was a gripping encounter, a chess match of tactics for 6 rounds, then an epic slug fest to the finishing line. Great to see so many brit boxers come through their fights in style and props to Matchroom for 6 hours of world class action. Come on everyone... HIP HIP.....
