- Cleverly throwing jabs then gassing? - Cleverly neglecting the right hand? - Split decision!? - Third fight...anyone? Let's try to ignore how much we all paid to watch it, and just discuss whatever the hell happened inside the ring, because I'm at a loss to explain it.
Eventually a semi entertaining domestic level dust up between two fighters whose best days seem behind them.
What was entertaining about that? Bellew swinging, invariably missing. Cleverly avoiding, coming back with some of the weakest shots, rarely. The only thing that made it remotely engrossing was how confusing it all was!
Clev is clearly carrying 30lbs of unnatural, unneeded weight. And is clearly psychologically scarred from Kovalev defeat.
I thought that too. Looked like he lacked confidence. I don't think his right hand was hurt, he just didn't have the confidence to throw it.
My only defence of the word entertaining is that it was boxing,I think?,rather than a bunch of idiots crashing around in the "jungle"But thinking about it more carefully,I may be wrong:nut
Speaking of unnatural, Bellew attempting to act normal at the end. Can you imagine him acting like that if he'd lost.
Cleverly needs to move back down really and he is probably the third best fighter in the division if he does and with Stevenson getting on a bit there is definitely a space for him there.
i couldnt make sense of it i thought clevely was ment to have good stamina, he just stoppped completely after fighting at a easy pace and nothing too frantic
Can anyone explain what just happened? Well in my opinion this is what happened, Sky Sport just made money by selling a PPV event that was clearly (apart from one) a bunch of one sided matches and then had the nerve after a very poor main event to start questioning if Bellew Vs Cleverly III should be made in Wales. I'm still a little confused about the very suggestion of Bellew Vs Cleverly III.
I know Cleverly didn't have a trainer as such, but you think he would have the fitness/conditioning bit with a fitness and conditioner coach, he didn't even have that.
