As we enter December ive made a list of the most impressive punchers of 2014. 1. Sergey Kovalev 2. Artur Beterbiev 3. Anthony Joshua (moved up 3 places) 4. Gennady Golovkin 5. Wladmir Klitchko (up 1 place) 6. Nicholas Walters (new entry) 7. Dennis Lebedev (down 3 places needs to ko hernandez) 8. Keith Thurman 9. Deontay Wilder 10. Adonis Stevenson
I agree. No way you can have Joshua over GGG, even though GGG hasn't fought top level. He's still fought levels above Joshua...as has Wlad over and over.
Your list is S H I T. If you've got Joshua at 3 based on knocking out a 40 year old shot to pieces Sprott then you have to put Kali Meehan and Erkan Teper in your Top 10 too as they knocked Sprott out in 1 round too. You may as well add ALI RAYMI too whilst you're at it.
You didn't reallly assess them though, did you. You just sort of made a list of different fighters in different divisions who have won by some stoppages this year. Nothing wrong with that matey, but it isn't a forensic assessment (if such a thing were even possible).
Not sure Kovalev hits as hard as Golovkin punch for punch, let alone pound for pound. 'GGG' is far and away the biggest puncher in the sport. As for Anthony Joshua......
Do you really believe that if GGG had fought a 50 year old veteran and landed as much as Kovalev did that he'd see the final bell, GGG is the biggest puncher out there ATM apart from a certain Heavyweight.
