See this is due to be Joshua's next fight but what's point fightin a human punch bag ,ppl saying he will get rounds but Johnson doesn't throw back just try's to survive (wotch fury fight and tht was a while back) this fight won't help him progress just another easy fight to put on a card to build him up I suppose IMO should b fightin a price, tony Thompson or charr sum1 who will actually try punch him and make him think
He needs rounds and Kingpin is durable... but as has been said, he fights to survive and he wouldn't throw up any sort of problems for AJ.
I believe it's the perfect fight right now. First we need to know if he has enough stamina and can carry his power later in the fight, and I think the Safetypin fight does that for him without taking much risk. If he comes trough looking good he can bring in a guy that puts punching back into the mix as well. Don't make the same mistake Price did.
People need to remember Joshua has only been pro for just over a year. He's progressing nicely atm and Johnson although shouldn't cause too many problems is a step up and is a durable opponent which is what Joshua needs as he needs rounds.
It's a good fight for him to take at this stage.... Or shall he continue to face guys who just fall over in a rd or 2? Johnson is durable if nothing else, and shows flashes... He'll definitely test Joshua, even if he isn't coming to win.
Agreed. Kingpin will almost certainly allow Joshua to get rounds in without posing much of a threat. No point in jumping up in class too steeply.
the fact he lasted 12 rounds with chisora and fury shows he can take a punch and how much power both them heavyweights have so if AJ gets him out of there in a couple of rounds we will know he is the real deal
I wouldn't be surprised if AJ did get him out fairly early...maybe 3/4/5? His power is clearly there but his accuracy if pretty good too.
