Guys, no offense, but who you think should be Fighter of the Year currently is unimportant. Between now and January 1st, all that matters is figuring out who should be on the poll. The poll itself will sort out who the Fighter of the Year is - at least on this forum.

So less debating who the F'erOTY is (save it for January) and more debating which ten fighters had the best 2014 and thus belong on the list...or whether it even needs to be ten instead of just six. :good

Two critical fights remain (Inoue vs. Narvaez & Crawford vs. Beltran)

    Quality thread:good

Inoue or Crawford if one of them wins in dominating fashion. If Inoue gets a stoppage it should be him regardless, and it would be one of the sickest feats in modern boxing history. Instant legend status.

Golovkin above Kovalev for me. People might get mad, but as I see it Hopkins is clearly a worse win than Geale at this point in time. Walters should also be above Kovalev.

Golovkin FOTY as of now, with Inoue and Crawford still in it:hat

Walters thoroughly deserves a nomination at the very least. What a year he had. Eubank Jr is another. I think he beats Billy Joe and if he does he deserves a nod.

Overall I hope Roman wins out. Hard not to love the guy and I admire his activity rates.

I'm a big fan of Inoue, but Narvaez is a crafty old man.

If you're going to include Eubank Jr for such a small feat then Kosei Tanaka would deserve a mention, for what it's worth for me Tanaka is the prospect of the year

Crawford if he wins since I don't think it's a given

    Then Walters

Well IB mentioned Billy Joe in possible nominations then Eubank is worth a shout if he beats Billy Joe. Granted not the best opposition at all but he'd be 6-0 or maybe even 7-0 over a year which is good going.

How about considering Francisco Rodriguez Jr? Big wins over Sabillo and Takayama, unified titles, 3-0-1 for the year
