    Roman deserves it as much as anyone but in reality has no chance due to obvious reasons.

    Kovalev deserves serious consideration but if Crawford looks good coming up it is his award for obvious reasons.

    Floyd and PAC both had decent fights where they destroyed younger guys.

    If he beats Omar Narvaez convincingly, then it should clearly be Inoue.

    Roman Gonzalez, Amnat Ruenroeng, Manny Pack, and Sergei Kovalev would be next for me, potentially and probably in that order.

    For the record, IB, it isn't exactly fair to put "(controversial)" next to Alvarez's win over Lara without also doing the same for others such as Jessie Vargas' win over Khabib.

    Thurman, Lemeiux, Stevenson, Saunders, DeGale, and Lomachenko belong nowhere near this discussion and should not even be listed. They are clearly multiple tiers below the rest in any assessment of their victories (even if they impressively win their scheduled matches).

    Inoue if he wins against Narvaez, Gonzalez, Amnat, Golovkin, Kovalev, Walters and Crawford make a very short short list. Maybe Donnie Nietes? Maybe Wlad Klitschko?

    Really lacked interesting fights in divisions like 122, 130, 140, 154, 168 this year.

    Rodrigo Guerrero impress me a lot this year but lacks an A* win he need.
