Peter Harrison would be up there I've always said if he'd moved to London when he was younger he be by far the UK's No1 easy. The top English trainers have a massive advantage over the likes of Peter and myself, top promoters will keep the top talent down South whereas we can do as good if no a better job than most
That has seemingly always been an issue the UK post WWII. Ever since 'The Cartel' it is preferred that fighters stay 'down south'. But in the modern era the likes of Nobby Nobbs and Brendan Ingle were/are vital characters to the domestic sport. And then every now and again a Celt does battle through to a world title against the odds, clearly with an excellent team around them!
No mention of Vince Cleverly yet? In all seriousness i agree with the guy who mentioned Gary Lockett. Paddy Fitzpatrick is another who will have a good stable in 2-3 years. Most over rated must be Enzo Calzaghe. Self praise is no praise at all and i always got the impression everything he knew came from his son, not the other way round.
