Nobody believes Frampton is the number 1 at 122. That is Rigondeaux. So that statement is pointless unless you want to cite all boxrec rankings as being good and relevant.

And a big congrats to Froch for finally becoming the best in the division based on another man's one year of inactivity.

    Both good fighters though.

How many consensus top 5 ranked fighters does the UK have? Froch, Frampton...? Who am I missing?

Boxing in the U.K. is great.

But America will always be the mecca.

The majority of the worlds best fighters live in America and fight on HBO or Showtime, with Top Rank and GBP.

The majority of the worlds biggest fights are held in Vegas casinos.

I can't see any of the above changing anytime soon.

UK currently has five world titlists--Carl Froch,Kell Brook. Carl Frampton, Scott Quigg and Jamie McDonnell while the USA has about a baker's dozen: Andre Ward,Anthony Direll, Bernard Hopkins,Jermain Taylor, Danny Jacobs, Floyd Mayweather, Demetrius Andrade, Cornelius Bundrage, Danny Garcia, Terrence Crawford, Mickey Bey, Lamont Peterson and Jessie Vargas.

But many of these American world champions are already old or aging or figured not to last long given their record or caliber.

UK has a lot of future title threats who are still young and prime in Amir Khan, Tyson Fury, Derek Chisora, Anthony Agogo, Anthony Joshua, George Groves, Martin Murray, Billy Saunders, Frankie Gavin, Lee Selby, Paul Butler, Luke Campbell, Terry Flanagan, Kid Galahad, James Degale, Chris Eubank Jr, Bradley Skeete, Khalid Yafai, Anthony Crolla, Bradley Saunders, Liam Walsh, Josh Warrington, Rocky Fielding, Kevin Mitchell, Martin Joe Ward etc.

Let's face it, UK is currently enjoying a golden era in pro boxing and it is helped along by the influx of highly promising and talented crop of boxers supported by very active and enthusiastic fan support at home and within the British Commonwealth. The Brits are also traditionally very good at promoting rivalries among its top boxers.

Hey loser, people don't care about boxing in the U.S anymore. Only Floyd and Pacquiao drive the average fan. If boxers want to make a ton of money they still however have to get it here, they also have to validate their success by beating top tier U.S boxers. Carl Froch already lost to the best SMW(U.S)who is now retired.

Where was british boxing in the 40s 50s, 60s,70s, and 80, when boxing was still popular in the US? No one here gives a sh*t anymore besides Floyd and Pacman.

    ****ing troll thread.

Frampton would be embarrased by Rigondeaux, and Nonito Donaire if he went back to 122.

    Ward already beat Froch easily.

Froch is the only #1 in truth, and only technically as the man of the division was dropped for inactivity.

    Rigondeaux is the #1 SBW.
