I love George Foreman as he is one of my favorite heavys of all time.. But I can't see him landing flush on Vitali or certainly not often enough to win the fight. A couple of lucky shots are always a possibility, but at the end of the day Foreman didn't have the reach, speed or boxing ability to tag Klitschko. His defense and stamina in the 70's was borderline horrific when contrasted to what he'd need to pull this off. I can almost see Vitali landing at will without putting himself in harms way. Again, George Foreman is an ATG who has every right to be in the top 10 and would be a head to head nightmare for a lot of men.. But this is one match where I just can't see him having any sort of an edge...
He was strong for his weight, though. Handled Chuvalo, who was one of the strongest of that generation, like a piece of cloth. I'm not sure Vitaly was stronger. My money would be on Vitaly in this one, though. I think. But George's jab might really cause him problems. Even young Foreman had a terrific jab. If he used it intelligently it would be interesting to see what he could do. If he comes out swinging I think Vitaly eventually weathers it and takes him into deep waters.
An out of shape unmotivated Lewis beat a prime Vitali by stoppage so what odds that prime Foreman would give him a thorough going over? Foreman beat some ATG fighters in his prime and only lost or struggled against master boxers, something that Vitali is not. The height and size advantages that keep being alluded to would do little more than give a monster puncher like Foreman a bigger target to hit. Also Vitali's best wins were against less than stellar opposition and tend to flatter his limited skill set.
