Why I believe Billy Joe Saunders beats Eubank Jr. on Points.

Firstly,

- BJS's last 5 opponents are better than anybody Eubank Jr. has fought and he has also been 12 rounds 5 times in hard paced bouts which is bound to help in this encounter, not to mention the amateur pedigree he has.

Secondly,

- While CEJ has been scoring some devastating KO's lately, look at the records of the guys he has been fighting. All of these guys have been KO'd by other fighters and while I agree he has the edge in power BJS has enough power to keep him honest, he proved that in his last fight.

Last but not least,

- This is on fish eyes show, if anyone is going to benefit from from corrpupt officials it will probably be BJS. Having said that I don't think it will be neccessary and he will win a UD around 117-112, 116-113, 115-113.

That's my guess anyway.

What makes this exciting is that Eubank Jnr is a really unknown quantity... Its really difficult to predict how he will perform stepping up to BJS's level.

 

I voted Eubank TKO. I've never seen BJS do anything devastating, I have seen Eubank TKO someone with 9/10 clean shots. The only question is can Eubank adapt quickly and step up? No one knows, thats why we'll all be tuning in!

 

I agree with Drunk Punch's opinion that Chris Eubank Jr. is the unknown quantity he has looked good in sparring with Froch, has the family pedigree but for me I am still going against him, if his time will come it's not Ssturday.

As for Billy Joe Saunders never doing anything devastating like mike, look at his last fight where he stopped a European champion with one shot, also look at the Jarrod Fletcher fight.

He has enough power to keep Chris Eubank Jr honest as far as I am concerned. I think he will have to dig deep but will come away with the win.

I agree with Dragon Punch.

It reminds me a little bit of when Eubank Sr fought Benn the first time, so many people thought Sr would get smashed to pieces because he was unproven, hadn't fought anybody at Benn's level and was over confident... Sr went on to prove he was above Benn's level at that time and we know the rest.

Not saying Jr will go on to win or be even half as successful as his father but until he steps up we will not know just how good he is.

I hope whatever happens Saturday both fighters are given credit and people get behind them both, I am dreading coming on here after to see "exposed" comments. They are both young British fighters and hopefully have long successful careers in front of them. It's about time we got behind our British fighters instead of ripping them to bits after a setback.

 

I think this a very poor breakdown if I'm being honest and surprised a few think this is great, all you've done is look at both records and say pros and cons, you've not went into the fighters styles or anything like that.

 

You can only fight whos put in front of you... Doubt it's chris fault he's been beating up poor opposition

BJS is very good at the basics but ultimately isnt all that special.... I think Eubank is something a little bit special and we see him showcase his talents against his toughest opponent to date. I favour Chris style over BJS

I'm picking Eubank Jr just think he is a level above Saunders. May have fought lesser opposition but he's a real talent. Going to be a great fight whatever happens ,this one fight alone eclipses the entire bellew cleverly card .

 

if it goes the distance it's either a close points win for BJ'S or at least a draw imo.

 

I thought exactly the same thing with the Chris Sr and Benn fight. Jimmy Tibbs the other day said in the press conference that Sr fought better opponents than Jr on the way up which is very debateable. He boxed nobody's up until his 19th fight.

I actually think if Eubank Jr beats BJS there is no reason why he can't go on to exceed his dads achievements.

 

I believe BJS is going to be a world champion and while it may not be CEJ's faulthe has fought weak opposition, the fact is over 12 it will give BJS the edge in a hard one. Wstch CEJ's last gew fights, the guys he's been in with have already been KO'd early by novice prospects and he still gets caught a lot.

I think some may be forgetting how poor CEJ looked early on in his career. I actuwlly felt Caruthers deserved a draw out of their fight. He still gets caught a d his shots won't have the same impact on BJS.

 

I've got to say BJS is coming across as a bit of a D**K in the interviews I've seen and I really hope Jr lives up to hype and KO's him

 

Also Saunders opponents would give eubanks a good go. that italian would probably outwork him, spike osullivan would keep coming, john ryder is as physically strong as eubank and tough, with decent boxing skills. All these fighters would give Eubanks jr a good fight and may beat him.

 

No mate. I agree with Tibbs. One of his opponents,I think it was in about his 10th or 11th fight,was against a West Indian called Anthony Logan. Just prior to that fight,Logan had Nigel Benn down and nearly out before Benn pulled off one of his near miracles and stopped him. Eubank had to go the distance but comfortably outboxed Logan. At the time was seen as some achievement and brought Snr. to the publics attention. Another victim was Johnny Melfah,much better than the opposition Jnr has been beating. Then you have Denys Cronin,an ex amateur star who would have been a fair parallel with John Ryder at this stage. But I still think Jnr. is a great fight for Saunders.

 

And might I add,I agree with the OP. But I won't be having a bet on this one.
