Easily Froch, collectively better fights and more exciting to watch. True warrior

First off I hugely respect both fighters (Froch & Joe C), however both have issues with their career that people will pick on.

How can you knock Joe C after all he achieved, even changing his style because of his hands, it’s a credit to him. However he did fight a lot of nobodies between Eubank and Lacey and will always get stick for fighting an old washed up Jones.

As for Froch, he has also achieved great things, true warrior and never ducked anyone. Had some great fights, but will also get stick for never being the top SMW in the division. In fact Ward beat him rather easily.

I guess it really depends on how you judge it, both are great so it’s sad to see people trying to discredit their achievements

    Really ?

Which rounds were they then ?

Listen to the American commentary team, they had Froch level going into the last round, some others in the press had Froch up by a round. Then add on the two knock downs in the 12th, and hey presto theres an argument that Froch could have won the fight without the stoppage.

Dirrell spent two thirds of the fight running, holding and throwing himself on the floor.

Lots of knowledgeable boxing writers thought Abraham was the real deal at 168 prior to the super six, easy to rubbish somebody after the fact.

Johnson didn't beat the **** out of Froch, he made the fight interesting but lost clearly on the scorecards, he also ate some big shots from Froch.

Groves knocked Froch down in the first, then had plenty of success until Froch started to catch him with shots. He then wilted before being stopped ( prematurely ). In the second fight he tried to outbox Froch, but again he was eating big shots by the 5th round, and then got KTFO.

Always better to deal with facts instead of opinion.

    Is that Dean Francis, Bulldog?
IMO Froch would beat Francis, but I think Wharton could beat Froch.
I agree with you on the rest though :good

Wharton had a fantastic left hook, but not much else unfortunately. His left hook was so good though, I'd say it was arguably one of the best I've seen, especially when he mixed it in to the body and doubled and trebled!

Francis was phenomenal in his performances against the excellent Carr and the tricky Starie, blowing away the fighters that gave Collins and Calzaghe so many problems. If he didn't blow his shoulder out or go to prison, he would've retired Calzaghe before Joe was 30.

Francis and Carr were all over Eubank in sparring before the Collins fights apparently.

About post teh same saying wharton may have caused him problems.

Froch not even close to calzage, eubank, benn or watson.

Credit where its due for his achievements but anyone younger and upcoming i.e ward.dirrell and groves have caused him problems and he is there to be outboxed. With having no tv exposure he became bitter with no recognition and now he has that exposure and more that bitterness for whatever reason has never left him.

But what really really ****es me off is he spent years moaning about calzage never giving him the fight and now he has the cheek to do exactly the same with james degale who in my opinion will destroy froch. It is a massive massive duck from a guy who claims to be a warrior and unlike calzage at the time he cant even say this fight does not make financial sense because with ppv it clearly does.

Calzaghe had much more talent but Froch has the superior resume.

Benn/Eubank/Watson/Collins didn't challenge the best in their weight class. But they were my favourite era of British SMWs.

It's all subjective. One could say Kalambay or McClellan was the best (Collins short-changed in Italy). One could say Calzaghe never challenged Liles.

Benn certainly challenged Roy Jones to a fight.

I think Wharton could punch Froch out the ring with the left hook.
I'm not sure about Francis beating Froch tbh, I know he was a big super-middle, but I think the fitness, toughness and physicality of Froch would get to him and he would break down in the later rounds.
How close was Francis to ever getting the Tarver fight do you know, Bulldog?
