What would happen if two of the top 5 168lbs ever (along with Calzaghe, Benn & Collins) squared of head to head, while in their primes.

Carl 'The Cobra' Froch vs, 'Simply The Best' Chris Eubank.

    I think:

    [YT]GC5E8ie2pdM[/YT]

Would win an extremely hard fought points decision, surviving a late onslaught from The Sheriff of Notthingham, that has the vocal crowd at the MEN arena demanding a rematch in front of 90,000 people at The Mecca of Boxing: Wembley Stadium.

eubank by ud but it would be a tough fight with two granite chins in there, eubank has better skills and jab and more power in my opinion if he used it. would be a great fight though

:good I reckon Eubank would win quite a lot of the early rounds. He'd probably get to Froch a bit with the head games before Froch makes his traditional rally.

Probably a bit pointless having the stoppage option. In their chin primes neither of them get stopped.

Froch wins this one on points. Eubanks was a lazy fighter, can see froch out landing him, also I think froch has more power.

problem? Chris eubank often gets outworked, he often managed to get a KO or KD to win the fight when it was close or he was losing, when he was lazy and not willing to engage, throwing the right hand counter that often left him off balance. I doubt he would bring the fight too Carl Froch, He could outbox him of course, but there will be no stoppages. And Froch does hit harder in my opinion. hes also 3inches taller, and 2inch reach advantage.

    This.

Carl is perfectly capable to stay outside and potshot powerfull fighters ( see Abraham): his reach advantage could help him a lot here.

He knows as well how to sapp your stamina ( see second Groves fight) as the fight gets in the later rds.

But he would need to fight the perfect fight, because Chris could deck him ( but not stop him) if he connected clean ( and he could ).

    Points decision either way.

this goes to the cards, with eubank winning the early rounds and froch picking up later. how many each way and the result depend on which eubank turns up, even in his prime he could have off nights.

Eubank all day every day. Eubank struggled with boxers, people that made him come forward and chase.

Froch doesn't have the speed, movement or boxing skills to out box Eubank. He'd be forced to go at Eubank which suits Eubank's style. Froch's power would also become a non factor. If a very hard hitting cruiser couldn't stop him other than by closing his eye then no way Froch does. Eubank wins a decision.

Froch would be competitive, but I think Eubank edges it. Eubank had the power to hurt, and drop Froch and I think he would. Froch wouldn't really hurt Eubank.

Eubank via close, yet clear decision.

    Excellent points.

Outside of stamina Eubank edges Froch in every department. Froch would be game till the end but I think a score of around 116-112 for Eubank would be around the mark.

As for a possible stoppage if there ever was one it would be coming from Eubank on Froch.
