Who you'd like to see Tony Thompson fight next? There was rematch set with Odlanier Solis, but the fight cancelled. Maybe it will be arranged next year or not. I think Thompson-Perez would be a good fight, winner of the fight could get chance to fight for world title. Thompson could also fight the winner of the Fury-Chisora, would be good fight too.

I wouldnt think the winner would be looking for that type of stay busy fight.

More than likely, it would be more feasible for the loser of Fury Chisora to rebound vs Thompson.

As for what's best for the Tiger......I think he's obviously on Anthony Joshua's radar. Seems like the next logical step in progression for AJ when he stops KJ.:think

At 43 years of age with an ever expanding waist line his days as a top contender are done. He's still dangerous as proven by his wins over Price and Solis but the loss to Pulev and Takam proved he's no longer at the top of his game.

He'll probably beat Solis if the rematch is rescheduled and will still keep fighting at a decent level and win some and lose some.

    Yeah, very true.

He's become a gatekeeper for sure, but if the styles matchup well for him, he can beat some contenders.

However, I think at this stage he's just looking for decent paydays to aid in his retirement yrs.

How do you think Briggs vs Thompson would go????? Think I'll make a new thread.:thumbsup

Briggs is beyond shot. He couldn't beat Solis or maybe even Price let alone Thompson.

IDK....power is the last thing to go, and his only decision win vs Love was because Love refused to fight.

Thompson would love to get in the trenches and exchange with Briggs. He likes the KO himself. That would put him in a tight spot considering Briggs is a murderous puncher when he's got his timing down.

And the whole SP vs Ortho comes into play since Briggs best punches are lead R hands. And Thompson has shown a vulnerability to that punch.

He shouldn't waste his time rematching the fat Cuban pig.... Stay busy, and maybe try and get a fight against Joshua? That will surely net him one more big payday, but will Hearn risk putting Joshua in with Thompson after what happened to Price?

Winner of the upcoming Fury/Chisora rematch would be ideal if he beats Solis in their rematch... I doubt the winner of Fury/Chisora II is going to fight Wlad, Povetkin, or Pulev next (though I'd be happy if they did), so why not Thompson... Bryant Jennings would also be cool.

It would be great if he was to knock Wilder out, there's a reason Wilder never even mentions him. I'd also like for see Joshua fight him after the Johnson fight, that's the level he should be fighting at with his physical advantages. He's a great acid test for any prospect really, as well as great learning fight.

I think the fight with Solis will happen. If TT wins that, then hopefully he'll get a shot at Wilder or another up and comer.
