If lomachenko is so good then why did he lost to salido?

This is exactly the kind of nonsense that produces Lomachenko backlash. Salido outweighed him by 3 pounds officially and 11 pounds on the night of the fight, significant yes, but not the hyperbole that's been spouted in this thread.

 

Loma didnt know how to pace himself over 12 rounds.

Make all the excuses you want to, it doesn't change the fact that Salido voluntarily signed the contract, b*tched about being "disrespected", f*cked off the weigh in and intentionally fouled the whole fight. At the end of the fight, Salido was the one hanging on like Pepe Le Pew.

Walters is already talking like he's going to make a "business decision" instead of trying to unify with Lomachenko.

Salido is a heck of a boxer he was throwing low blows too and Lomachenko handled what many couldn't and he had Salido hanging on in the last minute. It's early days but Lomachenko is not unbeatable.

Neither of the posts said anything about the manner in which the fought was conducted, merely contained complete misinformation about the weights. Way to gloss over Lomachenko's clinch game plan though :good

Make all the excuses you want, Lomachenko voluntarily agreed to still fight Salido after the official weigh-in, declared the weight wouldn't matter, elected not to attach any rehydration conditions for the fight to go forward, and at the end of the fight, was the one whose hand wasn't raised.

 

Lack of experience. Salido rightfully won and all the excuses as to why Loma lost are BS. Loma could've won had the fight taken place at a later stage of his career I think. Unlike most promising boxers, I think Loma is actually being matched up a little too steeply this early in his career.

 

I'll assume the O.P is being serious (and not just trolling), because, if he has seen that fight, he'll know that Lomachenko DID win but just lost due to the US level of judging.

Salido outweighed him by 18lbs (Salido was fined for his weight), and was banned for steroids, and he landed more low blows than in any other fight I've ever seen!

Excuses are mistakes and it seems like Lomas team treated them as such.

 

Salido is a good fighter but he had no business beating Lomachenko. I'm not saying that I had a problem with the decision, it was just a very poor choice of opponent for Loma so early in his carreer. Salido is a wily, come forward pressure fighter with vast experience as a pro. He did exactly what he needed to, to frustrate and outpoint Loma on the night.
No doubt Loma will learn from that fight and be better equiped to deal with that type of opponent in the future. It's a great pity for him that he now has an "L" on his record, which counts for a lot in boxing these days.
There are some high quality fighters in and around his weight division right now. I fully expect that we will see some classics when Loma, Walters and Rigo do battle with each other.
