Manny Pacquiao: The Fighting Pride of The Philipines The Early Days of The Pacman

Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao is a 5'6.5 35 year old with a 57-5-2 28 KO's 3 KO losses record. Born in Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines on Northern Mindanao and currently fighting out of General Santos City, Cotabato del Sur in the Sarangani Province. I'm a big, big fan of Manny's I'll get that out of the way early, he's not my favorite fighter but he's in my top 5, the question that I've had for awhile is..... How can anyone not like Manny Pacquiao? He's about the most likable person in the history of the sport, yet he's draws such hatred and venom from many on this site. I understand that Mayweather fans don't like the criticism, but why take it out on Manny. Manny Pacquiao will go down as one of the greatest fighters in the history of boxing as will Floyd and I don't get why people don't try to live in the moment and attempt to appreciate what we've been and continue to be witness to.

Manny is flawed his chin while not made of Fine China it isn't the sturdiest I've ever seen either, but considering the punchers he's been in there with it must be fairly damn solid. He's far too reckless at times and used to take huge risks yet they always seem to pay off, and that is the exact reason why he is such a beloved fighter, he brings the action like not many have before. He's such a fun fighter to watch he actually crossed over to the mainstream and for the first time in a long time got the casuals to actually care about the lower divisions, he was the definition of fan friendly.
I can't do a thread on Manny without mentioning his blood feud with Juan Manuel. As far as the Pacquiao-Marquez Quartet goes Manny won the first 2, had a draw in 3 and lost cleanly to a fighter with a massive grudge who may not have won cleanly. They were all close fights except for 4, which means they were close, as in close, as in really close, as in Marquez didn't win either.

Was Manny ever on PED's maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, but most fighters have been at some time in their career, which doesn't make it any better. But the real reason why his power has dissipated so much in recent matches is because he's a Flyweight fighting at Welterweight, he finally got to a point where he couldn't carry his power up with him anymore, add to that the fact that, Mosley, Clottey, Margarito, Marquez, Bradley, Rios are virtually impossible to KO could have something to do with it as well. But I have to say that its gotten to the point where Manny needs to step it up and stop fighting opponents who are of no threat to him whatsoever, how will this be accomplished while still working with Arum remains to be seen, but the matches he's had recently and the ones being talked about are so ridiculously below his level and all that's being accomplished is a slow steady destruction of his great legacy. So hopefully now that the Cold War has thawed we can at least hope to see a decent matchup or 2 from Manny before he retires so he can once again prove to the world why he is the Best P4P fighter of his era.
