Maidana is a come forward plodder. A shot morales and alexander schooled him. the only dangerous part of him is his power and floyd forced him to wear pillows both times.

    That sounds encouraging :patsch

Mayweather is cornered, he is getting the A side and a lot of guaranteed money. The public has resurrected their interest in this fight, I don't see how he can say no. He is getting too old to keep stalling it.

I could definitely see him turning down 60. He could make that much by just milking his name in his next 4 fights against random opponents (Provodnikov, Mikey Garcia, Vargas, Alvarado, etc.), not to mention Marquez V and Bradley III.
With that knowledge, why allow someone to shortchange you when you know that beating someone like Mayweather will be an uphill battle and a rematch won't be granted easily? Don't get me wrong, I definitely want to see the fight get made but I understand the business side of things.

So did Bob also tell Ruslan not to KO Algieri and let it go to the scorecards so Algieri gets the decision and Ruslan misses out on the biggest payday of his career? and did he also tell Floyd to look like **** against the slow plodder Maidana just to make the fans want the fight more right? :rofl:hi:

I hope that's a good sign, too early to tell. I like the hashtag, but '2 sides to every story'. Sounds a bit reticent for the fight.
Overall it looks like things are moving forward, or it could be 2010 again.
I think we will know in a few months, hopefully.

Who has beat at WW? 2 wins over Marquez, and a Prov that got beaten easier by Algiei makes you the third best WW?

Yeah, what's wrong with those? Are you denying Bradley is the best WW outside Floyd and Manny?

Marquez is a great win. The most decisive loss of Marquez's career extraneous to Mayweather

Very good, borderline great, win against Provodnikov. This fight was close, but it could have been more decisive if Bradley fought with a smarter game plan. I would expect him to out point Provodnikov wide in a rematch.

Also, Bradley has an excellent resume at 140. That counts as well.

He won against an elite p4p fighter, but he looked way worse than in their first encounter.

Needless to say, there's no more 2009 pacman.

A win over prov is borderline great? Arguable Prov won that fight and hes really a lightwelterweight, I don't care what you think he would do i a rematch, he won a controversil decision that he should have clearly easily won. Who has Ruslan beat beside Alvrado? It's arguable that he only has one win in the WW division was against Marquez. Floyd beat Marquez WAY easier than Bradley did, Bradley landed 15 mre punches than Marquez, but got outlanded by 30 power punches. Compubox obviously doesn't give us the whole story, but the fight was much closer than people say, and Marque isn't even a real WW. Bradley's resume at 140 has nothing to do with his resume at 147, it should not be factored in.

Whatever, forget about Provodnikov. It was a very good win over a not-quite-top-tier-but-still-very-credible-fighter. But his clout as a WW doesn't hinge on it.

So? We're aren't arguing that. We aren't arguing he's better than Mayweather.

Marquez had just come off the biggest welterweight victory any boxer has had in the last decade. He didn't DOMINATE Marquez, by why should he have to be considered great? He decisively outclassed Marquez that night. That's no joke of an accomplishment.

It's still a relevant metric for judging his WW abilities. In the same way it was for Hatton. And in the same way Ward's SMW resume would be relevant for judging him if he moved to LHW. If Ward made the jump today and lost to Kovalev in his first fight at light-heavy, would you say that win would be worthless for Kovalev?

Again, who do you rate above Bradley at WW apart from Floyd/Manny?
