All the talk here, even amongst people tipping Saunders, seems to be that his only way of winning is to move for 12 rounds firing feathers at Eubank and winning on points. Saunders has become a hugely under rated puncher recently. Check out the number of times O'Sullivan, Blackwell and Ryder have been stopped, they're 3 of the toughest guys in British boxing at any weight. Tony Hill, a step up from anyone Eubank has fought, was blitzed in 30 seconds. Jarrod Fletcher, 3 divisions above Eubank's career opposition, stopped in 2. Saunders can whip in a wicked right from that southpaw stance, and switches quickly from head to body with snapping, vicious shots. Eubank gets hit alarmingly often against the low, low level opposition so far. Saunders could make him pay in quite a dramatic way.
Fletcher never went down, a pathetic BS stoppage. Saunders couldn't break an egg, and won't keep that beast Jr off him.
You really need to watch the fights you mention instead of catching the last 10 seconds on Youtube or on an advert.
Hes got more than enough pop. He might not finish eubanks jr but his jab will be enough to keep em honest.
Eubank is to big to strong and to fast it will surprise people how much stronger Eubank is than BJS and that he can outbox BSJ he going get the knockout and pose over Billy.
All the pressure is on BJS, according to BJS Chris Jr. is "dog****" so if Jr makes a fight of it and it does go the distance what does that say about BJS? BJS said he will get "beaten with a chain" if it goes past 6 rounds, what do we say if this goes past 6? Or BJS does not stand and fight? Eubank Jr had virtually no amateur career if you compare it to most pro's and is only 15 fights in to his pro career. All the pressure is on Saunders in my opinion and pressure can do strange things to people. Very interesting fight, I like them both as people and boxers, I have no real preference. I just hope we have a sensible forum after whatever happens.
As for Saunders power, well yes of course Saunders has power but to really land that power he will need to plant his feet and that means standing still and most people think Eubanks only real chance is if Saunders does stand still. Eubank will open up the split second Saunders does, that will be the game plan in my humble opinion.
As soon as Eubank cuts off the corners and gets him in a corner, its over... Or traps him against the ropes, its over. And 12 rounds is a long time.
But you need good fundamentals to land the power shots and whilst Eubank is the better puncher (although overrated) he lacks in fundermentals when compared to Saunders. If Saunders was fighting the level of competition that Eubank has I guarantee the same people praising Eubank for his wins would be slating BJS.
I think it's fair to say Chris carries more power than billy but that alone doesn't win you fights Good luck to both of them
I guess jr has his dads Iron Jaw. Or thats we should suspect from the new middleweight floyd mayweather.
