Barry Jones is truly the worst commentator of any network

I like Barry Jones. Think hes ok personally

 

He is awful. The commentary on BoxNation is the worst i've ever heard with Jones the main culprit. The bias is nauseating and the guy can't score a fight to save his life. He adds no excitement to a fight, not a natural commentator at all. When Eddie Chambers joined for the main event it was like a breath of fresh air. Frank needs to shake things up badly

 

I said Barry was the best in the UK so what have Paulie, Roy and Tarver got to do with it? Compare him to other UK ex boxer pundits, some of whom are borderline special needs.

 

Jim Watt is better, even the hugely depressing Paul Smith was better and I would much prefer to listen to Lennox and he was abysmal.

 

The bias to Buglioni, Saunders and Gavin last night was so painfully obvious. Jones and Rosenthal might as well have been cheering them on live on air

 

Agreed, Chambers should be there every time!

 

He's the worst in the UK. The fact hes an ex world champ makes no differnece to his commentary skills. He's terrible

 

Last night was so bad it was unreal. He'd clearly been given a script to read from, because no matter how bad the home fighter was, he'd praise them to the heavens. Was embarrassing.

 

Far too repetitive just like Watt.

Possibly the worst thing is when someone disagrees with him and he goes meeeeeh no it was still a (insert home fighter) round for me.

 

How many times did he say "he doesn't know what to do when he gets hit" about bullyoni. atsch

 

I've noticed when he's commentating on a fight with a ****** fighter he is horribly biased but on the international shows he's not too bad.

 

I'd like to see somebody like Adam Booth turn his hand to commentating.

 

I think the boxnation commentary is terrible, the home bias is shocking but worse is that they often completely misread whats going on to the point where it becomes really annoying. Sky are no better. in this day and age cant my sky box shut them up? I want a button that lets me hear the crowd and the punches but not this bull****.
