    It's not that this era is poor, it's that previous oldtime eras are extremely overrated. A guy like Sonny Liston wouldn't be a top 25 HW today.
    This era is so good that a 6'8 235 pound extremely athletic/fast dynamite puncher is considered a joke.

    Maybe what is depressing for some fans is that with the increased globalization of boxing, the US can no longer claim to be top dog in the division.

    Think Jennings is the only one a bit high on most lists,just dojt think he has the physical ity to deal with the bigger heavy's,..

    How many vacancies would the HW top 10 have if the requirement to be in the top 10 was to beat someone in it?
    I think that's the best way to do this, and it would force big fights to happen, but I don't think it will.

    Talent should not be a part of accessing ones ratings only accomplishments.
    Isn't that how it works in most sports?

    People say this in literally every era, even ones that in hindsight get looked at as being great.

    Heavyweight boxing's been dying since the day it started.

    Huck had a razor close fight with the no.2 HW.
    Usyk will likely be a top 10 HW, or maybe even a champ at some point.
    Mchunu, Makabu, Chakhiev, and Kudryashov would all have a shot at beating some of the lesser top 10's today, or would at least be considered very good prospects.
    This is more of a testament to the strength of the CW division right now however.
