Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko

If Fury boxes smart and doesnt try to fight like Pulev did, then I think Fury lasts the distance, wins 2-3 rds and even has a couple successes along the way.

There was a time early in the fight last night when Fury could have took it right to DelBoy and KO him. But Fury was tentative in following up on his successes.

Against Wlad, having come off the type of win he just had, Fury would be smart to steer clear of a slug fest. Wlad is stronger, faster, has better overall punch resistance, and is smarter.

That said.....a 26 y/o Fury is FAAAAAAAARRRRRR smarter than a 26 y/o Wladimir. So much smarter in fact, that Fury was basically untouched last night, and STILL didn't go for the kill vs a guy who has shown vulnerabilities. Whereas Wlad was trying to KO everyone who dared enter the ring with him, and in short order. This version of Fury would beat Brewster, Sanders, and Purrity 90/100 times.

It's just this version of Wlad beats them 100/100 times. :think:think:think

 

Fury will out box Wlad but will then likely get bombed out by a power punch.

Wlad can't out box Fury. He couldn't out box Povetkin and Pulev. He had to turn the Pulev fight into a pot shot - shoot out and luckily for Wlad , Pulev was dead on his feet and had zero defence.

Fury's movement and reflexes would neutralize Wlads power much like Haye was able to.
Fury is a far greater offensive threat than Haye so Wlad getting knocked out is not out of the question.

 

Wlad is just way, way too seasoned for Fury. My guess is if Wlad looks to impose himself as he did against Pulev then he'll bring an early end to proceedings. Either way, Klitschko isn't losing this one.

The only thing even remotely accurate about your post is the possible outcomes, which you've essentially covered them all with your prediction.

Anything can happen, but Fury<Wlad.

I don't think anything could beat Wlad vs Barnie Rubble (Ibragimov) , where they pawed at each other for the entire fight except the last 30 seconds.

Fury also uses the ring a lot better than Wlad.

 

He has a left hook that he throws inside very well (Charles Shufford fight).

Fury's punches are much, much slower than Wlads as well as being arm punches.

 

Fury can punch, has a lot of size, speed, good stamina and a massive heart when nessecary. This is not an easy fight.

 

Fury's arm punches gave Chisora the worst beating of his life , so maybe they weren't arm punches at all.

I recall Fury putting a good swing on some of those shots before he decided to go easy since he likes and respects Chisora.

 

As bad as people say Wlad's chin is, Fury's is worse.

The difference is Wlad can probably take Fury's punches, while Fury can't take Wlad's.

Both of these huge heavyweights are a lot better than their detractors say they are. They are very athletic considering their enormous size, truly modern superheavyweight boxers that would crush the midgets that reigned in previous generations. Guys like Ali, Frazier, Holmes were basically cruiserweights by comparison and were 4 inches to over a half foot shorter in stature. Prime Ali for instance was knocked out by basically a light heavyweight in Henry Cooper who Dundee, Ali's trainer admitted to cutting Ali 's gloves between rounds to buy him time to recover. Wlad and Tyson Fury represent the future of heavyweight boxing, the new breed of athletic giants with technical skills that make previous eras giants like Jess Willard look like clueless bar room brawlers. Wlad's experience and recent commitment to power punching should get him a late knockout over Tyson but Fury and guys like fellow giant Joshua are the future of heavyweight boxing.
