Why would it be a stretch? Pacquiao fought ultra cautiously vs a punching bag in Rios, and he did'nt step on the gas vs Bradley. He has'nt turned in exciting fights since he was KTFO!

Probably same as Rios or less which was 400K, supposedly.

Whos going to spend $65 on that fight a week before Black Friday? Not many I would think. Hope it did not do well. PPV should be for great fights between great fighters, not just regular payday for great fighters to do whatever.

Considering Algieri had NO following outside of Long Island, this is hardly surprising.

Nobody thought it would be competitive and it hardly had an enticing undercard.

Only so many people are going to pay to watch Manny Pacquiao in a complete mismatch

Mayorga's persona got lots of attention plus he was an ex welterweight champ (legitimate champion not just a titlist I think?), who'd fought DLH, Trinidad, Vargas and Mosley. He would have been known by anyone with even a passing interest in boxing as opposed to Algieri who was only known by hardcores.

I find it hilarious that any idiot ever buys a Pacquiao or Mayweather PPV.

HBO should get Algieris trainer as their spokes person "The PPV numbers are exactly where we wanted them to be!!".
