Pac is an immensely skilled offensive fighter. It is sad for people to say the greatest offensive fighter of the past decade in one dimensional.
Floyd is the greatest defensive fighter of the past decade. TS is trolling when he calls Pac one dimensional.
anyone who said that pac is one dimensional fighter DKSAB :good he can throw lead rights, he can throw right hook counter, slip off a jab and throw straight lefts, do feints (exceptionally well), go in and out, pivot to the weak side and so many more, if that constitute to being one dimensional what do you call maidana?
People drive a hard bargain when it comes to manny.... Floyd to for that matter but there's NO way PAC is a fighter with only a single dimension.....anyone who really believes that has a very skewed definition of the term. "One dimensional".
Pacquiao is far from one dimensional, but Pac****s and HBO do overrate his boxing ability. If we were to believe them they would have us believe Pacquiao's boxing ablity was of the highest order. I'd rate Pacquiao's boxing ablity as above the average fighter, but far from the highest order.
For those pounding this drum about Manny being "one demensional".....any of you care to define that as you all understand it? This should be interesting for anyone who cares to put themselves on blast.
He's not the most poslished but one of the most effective. His skills come from a not so traditional boxing background therefore his foundation fosters a very unorthodox style. Since you like JMM so much....as do I, let's compare. Juan throws technically sound punches....has a very classic boxing style even though it's not the typical "Mexican" style. Nacho trained him to be a very polished boxer/puncher that has a strong emphasis on counter punching. His style is cleaner and more athsteically pleasing to the most boxing fans but that doesn't mean PAC doesn't have a robust skill set. Manny just has an awkward delivery becuase he wasn't classically trained by world class trainers. By he time Roach got him he was already set in his style and foundation established. Roach didn't try to reshape Manny..... Just add new wrinkles and enhance on the natural gifts and physical attributes he was already working with. Not always poetry in motion when looking at PAC work but more like a controlled hurricane.
He takes big risks but as they say.....big risks comes big rewards. Or end up like he did in the 4th installment of PAC vs JMM at the end of the 6th. It's a gamble having such an explosive and active style like Manny. But it's work more than it's worked against him inside the ring.
Nacho Beristain said it best right before the 3rd Marquez-Pacquiao fight when discussing Pacquiao's evolution, "Pacquiao has improved immensely as a boxer, but he was more dangerous when he fought maniacal and wild, the current version only makes it easier on Juan."
That is accurate for Juan..... But but necessarily for anyone else. Juan has a formula and experience fighting Manny. It's almost a feeling for PAC.....Manny also gives Juan fits but for the most part the styles advantage goes to Marquez in their rivalry. It would have been interesting to see what Nacho would have done to Manny if It wasn't Roach who took Manny under his wing.
I said that many times right after KTFO6, when Pac****s tried to brush off Pacquiao being knocked out to he getting careless. The was'nt Pacquiao getting careless, that lazy double jab he threw at Marquez has been typical of him in every one of his fights, its worked for him often to set up getting off his most dangerous and explosive punch, the straight left.
Not careless, but he was way too aggressive at the end of that round thinking Juan was ready to go. He was banged up but Juan still had all he faculties.....and he knew what PAC was doing when he was in that corner, obviously. That was the best counter punch in the last 20 years.....all things considered.
