I like Fury and if he does get his shot then fair enough, wlad would certainly show him how to jab properly.

 

For starters, Frank does pay his fighter. A few late payments does not equate to never paying anyone. Besides, Frank is more than likely to pay the big name opponent before anyone.

However let's keep to the topic of Wlad/Fury:

You use the revenue from the promotion to pay the bills. A £10 million purse split 80/20 is very realistic. It would be a joint promotion with K2.

Wlad will only fight in the UK if he can earn significantly more than he would otherwise have earned in Germany. How that would be possible without FrankW bankrupting himself I don't exactly know.

I don't think the public will give Fury (those who even know him) much of a chance to beat Wlad anyway so the hype won't be there as much. Fury isn't well liked either.

Froch v Groves was a one off that was jumped on by the Sky hype machine and paid off. Without that Sky hype and promotion, no chance.

It could probably do the O2, or Upton Park but no chance Wembley

The tabloid newspapers could easily hype this to Wembley proportions.

People underestimate the interest that could be generated in Wladimir Klitschko. The general British public and sports fans are familiar, some very, some vaguely, with Klitschko. There's a recognition that he's a long-time champion and he comes across well in interviews. He's also half of a celebrity couple, tabloids and gossip mags love it. He looks the part. Throw in a few references to Ukraine crises and geopolitics. Wlad, as boring as he might have seemed to boxing fans for much of the last ten years, has great potential.

In the other corner, mouthy traveller Tyson Fury. Again, the whole 'gypsy' thing appeals to tabloid sensibilities, and Tyson himself is a pretty decent self-promoter. He's either a cheeky chappie or a mindless moron, and he sings a bit. The tabloids and the public love amateur singers, as X-Factor and all its variations show. There's so many ways Tyson Fury could come up with to promote himself, it doesn't bear thinking about.

Having said all that, I doubt it will happen at Wembley.
Wlad has too many options.

Fury couldn't sell out the MEN, his home town arena, for the first Chisora fight (and that was despite about 17 fights originally being on the card).

He has no ****ing hope of even getting Wembley half-full.
