This is how the kid is building his hype as this feared fighter. This isn't about judging his talent this is about 1 important fact. All these guys that Thurman said were ducking him are ALL also managed by Al Haymon. So if he really wanted to, he could have pushed Haymon to make the fights...but instead he is fighting a non threat that no one cares about. Disclaimer: I think Keith could be at the top of the division for sure...but when you say guys are ducking you when you are signed to the same matchmaker then you need to open your eyes.
I bet the top 5 barely know who the f Thurman is. He says he wants to fight Kell Brook for the IBF title. So why not ditch his garbage interim belt- because Mayweather won't feel the need to fight a mandatory- and fight Bundu (who was the #1 ranked IBF challenger) in an eliminator and get himself in a position to become Brook's mandatory. I don't think Thurman himself would duck the fight, but Haymon has already seen Brook expose Porter and doesn't want it to happen to another coddled cash cow.
I agree with your first post in the thread but I don't agree with this. I can envision Alexander and Khan both squaring their shoulders upright and having largely a fencing match with select inside fighting. Alexander can win those. A fight with Thurman will not result in a stand up 'n feet flat sort of match. Alexander doesn't do well on his toes meanwhile Thurman is best bouncing on his feet and getting some angles going, which is what Alexander doesn't handle well. Khan, all the speed in the world yes, still doesn't create any deceptive or unique angles.
yeah its not a bad fight for alexander and in fairness to him he really will fight anybody , id say it would be like a 116-112 kinda of fight with thurman hurting him a few times but not doing anough.
i dont think wed see those angles from thurman against alexander for large spells , i think alexander is the slicker mover and would be in front of thurman waiting for counter punches and i think hed outbox him for most of it with thurman getting some succes from boucning in from angles and hurting him. Alexander would be a massive step up for thruman skill wise
khan vs. thurman should be fighting each other, but my guess is haymon wants to milk these two clowns some more on showtime.
same manager or not. If a fighter dont want to fight another fighter its not going to happen. Nobody is calling out one time, One time name is not in the mouth of any fighter. You go figure that out
Alexander is one-dimensional... He's a "Jab, Jab, Straight" kinda guy. Either Jab, Jab, Straight TURN, or Jab, Jab, Straight HOLD... I've seen Thurman show more layers in his game against Diego Chaves than Alexander ever has in his career... Not to mention Thurman's equalizer that Alexander doesn't have, e.g. power. Thurman can knock Alexander's gameplan completely out the window by landing one shot, Alexander would have to either run or hold all fight long to guarantee victory
yeah he could well do that , i wont be surpised if thruman beats him just id favour alexander right now. chavez isnt that good though he was neck and neck with rios and he gave thurman a real tough out, alexanders a bit one dimensional but he is quick and has decent skill more so than thurman in my opinion.
Devon wanted it. He said it numerous times. You're a bit naive if you don't think Al is controlling everything. You go figure that out. Edit: Kell Brook also called him out. Not saying Keith doesn't dominate either...but folks are willing to fight him. Al don't want it.
