Name your favorite "cute" fighters.......and i dont mean good looking or something like that. i mean cute as a boxing term. guys that really knew how to work the ring.

i always had a thing for these guys. you know, fighters that are not that physically gifted but really knew the science of the game.

think about it: if the guy in the one corner is the bigger puncher, better boxer, faster, taller longer reach........well, that dont sound too good for the other guy.
cuties found a way to get the win by being awkward and usually not very exciting. but they get the win.

one of my favorites was manning galloway. or gianfranco rosi.

Mickey Ward, wasn't the most talented guy, the quickest most athletic but more often than not found a way to win..

Same thing with Jerry Quarry who was only 200 lbs, and often physically overmatced...

Other guy's that come to mind are Greg Haugen, the late Johnny Tapia, and Carlos Baldamir...

You can throw in Tex Cobb too his skill level was weak to put it mildly but was reasonably competitive in the Heavyweight hey day of the late 70s and early 80's

Galloway's rhythm is something else. What a complete pain in the ass he must have been for anyone he fought.

There wasn't a single thing "cute" about Ward or Cobb. They were the very antithesis of the word.

Saoul Mamby was cuter than a bug's ear in the ring.

Back in the day one of the magazines did an article about Haugen being 'the last of the cuties.'
