I very much welcome this fight. It's one of the more exciting fights that can be made in boxing right now. Plus what other fight can be made on the same weekend that would compete. None really. Best to serve out the lane or get ran over.

Says he wants a 50-50 split

Cotto is difficult to negotiate with

The tecate/corona sponsorship is an issue

    Weight limit of 155

    Venue is still an issue

Cotto is in a sweet position, he can tell goldenboy: you dont want to give me the bigger purse? It cant be in nyc? Ok ill fight mayweather and steal the may 2 date

Cotto is the A side should be more like 60-40

Of course if the fight were to take place in Vegas Canelo would have more leverage during negotiations so Cotto pushing for MSG site would behoove him and set the stage for all other negotiable provisions within the contract. It seems to me Cotto has either developed or obtained a solid squad of consults to aide him during negotiations.

he wont pick floyd over canelo. he stands to make much more money vs canelo, even with a 50/50 split. floyds purse limits cotto to less than 10 million, while canelo can probably make him about 15 million. this is all just a bunch of posturing from both sides in order to get an edge in negotiations.

Does Canelo believe he is that much of a higher draw over Cotto? Especially since Cotto is the one bringing the title to the table.
