Every time someone makes a thread about Roy Jones, it turns into a debate over whether or not he was a PED cheat, and who he did or didn't fight in his prime.

    No, nothing like that.

He started camp already weighing 192, with 8.7 percent body fat.

Mackie Shilstone then changed that to 6%, and Roy ended up weighing 199, but 196 minus three pounds for his clothes.

So he was around 14 pounds heavier than his fight night weight against Clinton Woods, which was six months earlier.

Is there proof what he took was only Ripped Fuel? Or is that what he blamed the failed test on?

He tested positive to Androstenedione. IF he were going to use something, this would be absolutely THE WORST anabolic to take, as it hasn't even been proven to be anabolic unless in VERY high doses. Patrick Arnold the chemist in the Balco scandal released this as the first pro hormone on the market and soon after released Androstenediol (dione vs diol) because even he felt that Andro was terrible. RJJ claimed to have taken Ripped Fuel and I 100% believe him. At the time, Twinlabs (the company behind Ripped Fuel) had a problem with cross contamination. They were using the same machines to make Ripped Fuel and Andro which explained the cross contamination. If RJ was gonna use a PED to improve performace, Androstenedione would NOT be the one to use.

But didn't ripped fuel have Andro in it? I believe it is even on the back of the bottle.

IIRC the substance wasn't listed in the ingredients of the product and it was then pulled from stores like GMC and the like.

Allot of substances then and now are pulled from the shelves because they have illegal substances in them, ripped fuel is not exception. Also not listed in the document, you presented is what kind of drug Roy had in his system, its not listed because the test was not 100%. Also is should be reported that Richard Hall testosterone levels where even higher then Roys that night. When its al said and done, the fact that both fighter reported being positive and both fighter claiming their innocents, the validation of the test was in question. No one can say fully or not if Roy was on Roids.

    Banned substance? Yes.

    Banned substance is banned substance.

If you think fighters should be placed on regimens that incorporate PED's and banned substances, that's great. But the rules don't agree. Don't follow the rules and you deserve to face the punishment.

Banned substance is banned substance. No other way to look at it on the surface.

"But they're all on stuff!" Yes, they are. But most don't get caught. And when you do, well, face the consequences.

I don't think many will care either way. Those who hate him will bring it up frequently. Those who love him will dismiss it as this thread has. In time, guys like Jones and Erik Morales will likely not be remembered for their positive drug tests. It seems like people selectively forgive whoever they root for anyway.

If this were the case, I'm sure you can find us a credible link that would explain this.

Ripped fuel was a combination of ephedrine asprin and caffeine. Walmart sold it too. It was nothing special and was a pretty mild fat burner.

To gain 30 pounds of muscle while staying ripped in 3 months is impossible without steroids, if you think otherwise your very naive..
