Lewis would have went through Wlad's resume undefeated and completely dominant

Did Wladimir fight Oliver McCall or Hasim Rahman???!

Woooh, Lennox Lewis fans just breathed a collective sigh of relief...

(yes, I know that Wladimir fought an old Rahman in '09-10)

Lewis IMO would go through Wlad's resume yes. The Lewis that smashed Golota, Ruddock, Grant, Briggs, yes he would go unbeaten through Wlad's resume.

    Dude.

I'll give you a couple hints:

-Wladimir and Lennox have at least one common opponent.

-That common opponent was beaten by Wladimir handily and he knocked Lennox out.

It's not a great comparison because that fighter was washed up by the time Wladimir fought him. But it is what it is.

This makes no sense. You have to look at the individual times these fights took place. Does anyone really think the 32 year old Lewis loses the the 38 year old Rahman? Because those were the ages for Wlad (32)and Rahman (38) at the time of that fight. To just say Lewis already lost is no better than a triangle theory.

I specifically said it's not a great example for those reasons and that it's not my opinion that I'd favor 2009 Rahman to beat a prime Lennox.

But it is on paper correct to say that of course Lennox couldn't go through Wlad's resume undefeated when he couldn't go through his own undefeated and has lost to a common opponent of theirs. It is a lot more accurate and closer to factual to say that than to say that Lennox goes through Wlad's resume undefeated, is all.

I could name several who I would say have a damn good chance of beating Lennox from Wlad's resume or of beating Wladimir from Lennox's resume. And the history of both Lennox and Wlad would suggest that I would at least be right with one or two of them.

Lewis avenged his defeat to rahman though, knocked him out.

I disagree that it correct to say he couldnt go through Wlads resume undefeated because of a loss to a common opponent. If it was a 32 year old Lewis in there against the 38 year old Rahman i think its safe to say the outcome would have been the same as with Wlad. Can anyone prove it either way? Of course not. But if we're going to take this route than why not say Wlad could never beat a younger version of Rahman because he got stopped by Sanders who Rahman beat? The thread makes no sense unless you use a specific guideline.

Who did Lewis beat that Wlad wouldn't beat? Old, shot post-prison Tyson? Old Holyfield with a heart condition? Andrew Golota? Frank Bruno? STDs positive Tommy Morrison? Francois Botha?

Current Wlad would dominate all of Lewis's opponents.

I agree completely with what you're thinking.

But if you had a gun to your head looking solely at their records and only able to use consistent logic then you would be much more likely to say Lennox DOES NOT go through Wladimir's resume undefeated as opposed to the other. That is all I said, I stand by that, and I think it would be tough to disagree with.

If Lewis was at his best then he of course would definitely beat everyone on Wlad's resume.

The problem with Lewis though is he could be inconsistent. He wasn't always the most dedicated or focused fighter, it's why he lost to McCall and Rahman and why he did far worse in the rematch with Holyfield. If there was a perceived threat like in the Rudduck or Golota fights he was a different animal.

So if he showed up unprepared and overweight like he was in the first Rahman fight I could see him lose a couple of fights again, all depends who he was facing.
