he belongs in the WBO hall of fame.....in the 90s that wbo **** was not reconginezed as a world title by HBO or Showtime, as the real champions were WBA, IBF, WBC
So his run on the WBO bum circuit and "huge" wins over bungu, soto, kelley, and billy hardy makes him hall worthy?

the only real challenge he had he failed miserable and quit immediately after. real champions try to avenge.... this clown is a joke :-(

About time. He was the best at featherweight for a few years between 1995-2000 until Morales and Barerra moved up and the impact he made financially for the lower divisions was dramatic.

When Steve Robinson was WBO champion he was the first featherweight to earn a million £ purse and Hamed blew that out of the water earning far more for each fight. Hamed helped bring interest from a wider boxing audience to the lower divisions. No doubt Hamed left a legacy and deserved to be inducted.

Why not make a thread listing all the new inductees? :blood

The news just broke, there hasn't been a thread yet - why make one just for one guy's benefit without even mentioning any of the others? :huh

I think you missed the part out where
he won the WBC from Cesar Soto,
    IBF from Tom Johnson,
    WBO from Steve Robinson
    and WBA from Vasquez

Next your going to tell me, Soto, Robinson, Johnson and Vasquez were ****

My question to you is, outside of Morales, who is ATG MABs, best win?

Take your time on that one :good

At least Bowe had to wait a year. (he was first eligible for the ballot in 2013, and so could have been in the class of 2014)

It would've been kind of a slap in the face to greater recent heavyweight champs like Tyson and Lewis for Bowe to be painted with the same brush as them - in on his very first year of eligibility.

It also feels wrong that he is going to beat Holyfield in by at least two years. (Holyfield won't be eligible until the class of 2017).

I know, Bowe edged his trilogy with him - and it certainly isn't Bowe's fault that Holyfield campaigned for way too long and bumped his own eligibility date back - it just sucks that for a couple of years Bowe is going to be in the Hall of Fame and the greater Holyfield won't. So it goes...
