I thought they were going to fight in may after pac beat jmm in their 4th fight....
    Pac got ktfo
It was Pacs job to build himself back up, and Mayweathers job to keep doing business as usual and to keep public interest.
    They both did that.
    Congrats...

    NOW MAKE THE ****ING FIGHT

    edit:
No this is not bigger than 2010. Not even close.
They are exiting their primes now, and pac has a loss that has carried with him.

    Agreed.

And despite so many people making bold claims about 3 million PPV buys, I highly doubt that will happen if the fight does get made in May.

it will do about 2.5 million buys, but it will be priced higher than any other fight before it. it will be shown through more venues than any other fight before it, and it will be more heavily promoted than any other fight before it.
the interest has actually spread to fans that werent really interested back in 2010. in the last 5 years, millions of people who really know very little about these fighters or boxing in general, know how much interest there is in a fight between these 2, so they will be more inclined to join the crowd now, than they may have been back in 2010.

I really think that there is just as much buzz now if not more now than in 2010 imho for this fight.

Nobody is saying the fight will be more relevant now. Was Oscar vs Floyd more relevant than had it been made yrs earlier? No. Did it sell more than it would have earlier? Yes. In my experience, the average fan doesn't follow the sport as closely as the average boxing forum poster and hasn't noted the two's decline. For example my friend s a boxing fan but mostly on Sat. nights because he has an awful lot on his plate the rest of the time.

I thought you would be happy to see Mayweather get his butt kicked twice by Pac.
