I dont have a huge problem with Bowe getting in though it may be a tad early depending on who else was eligible this year. Hamed deserves it in my opinion. Not only was a an excellent fighter, but he broke the UK out, he was a worldwide boxing attraction and not just veiwed as another British hypejob as many fighter from there were seen before him. Mancini is my favorite fighter of the bunch but he never raised the bar even though he was exciting. Most people know him today from his broadcasting and guest appearences or the Doo Ku Kim tragedy, not what he actually did in the ring. Of course this is the hall of fame and not the hall of accomplishment.

If Hamed was actually serious about boxing he would have gone undefeated his whole career and possibly fought over 50 fights. The guy's talent and ability is only matched by Roy Jones Jr in my opinion. When he was good he was the best.

On top of Bowe's lackluster resume which I touched upon on a previous post he never was a ambassador of the sport in any positive manner.
    - the Mathis cheap shot
    - the Tillery fiasco
    - the Donald cheap shots
    - the cause of a dangerous Riot in MSG
    - the throwing of a belt in the garbage to not face your mandatory
    - throwing a bottle a luis Gonzalez
    - coming in overweight and fat for fights

In short he is being elected for on fight - against Holyfield where many ppl had him the favorite going in

I touched on a lot of this in Classic.

Not to mention Bowes poor resume and the fact that most of his top wins were actually Tyson leftovers, which he struggled with anyway.

He had brittle hands and he broke his hands during the Sanchez fight which caused him to have a 7-8 month layoff.

He put on 3 stone which he struggled to take off in time for the MAB fight.

Oh dear, Liceman couldn't even make it to the second page without being comprehensively smacked down like the clueless little f*ck he is.

I never tire of watching the ref raise Bowe's hand in victory because Golota was to much of a head case to keep it together.

I don't actually disagree with the notion that someone like Hamed isn't worthy of being recognised among the very best in the history of the sport. But the IBHOF made it clear long ago that this wasn't what they were about, and there are many fighters that have received induction that are either on par with Hamed or are inferior in a historical sense.

It's not all about the resume, just saying.

Naz was superb, one loss, against MAB is no disgrace, beat everyone else he had to and was exciting in the process, whether you liked him or not, worthy of his induction.
