Well I just hope the Jennings fight can be agreed. The fact that Briggs is even being considered as a viable opponent is mind boggling. You couldn't make this up.

Briggs would be Wlad's worst ever defence, worse than Mormeck, worse than even Leapai. Leapai would KO this shot version of Briggs who would be 44 by the time this fight happens. Briggs hasn't had a decent win in 8 years and was retired for 3.5 years after the horrible beating he took from Vitali. Since his comeback he's only fought one guy in the top 200! That's how bad Briggs opposition has been, he's a brutal KO waiting to happen. Briggs himself is only ranked 51 on boxrec, that's right there are 49 better opponents than Briggs. The odds of Briggs winning would probably be the widest ever, it's that big a mismatch.

IMO, the winner of Glaskov/Cunningham is next in line for Wlad if Jennings falls thru.

If K2 has a date and arena set for March, they should try to get Malik Scott who at least has quality wins over Glaskov and Leapei recently, in spite of his dive vs Wilder.:think

Jennings won't pull out, he'll be happy to get KTFO for $$$ :yep

Briggs should fight someone that's not a full time Pizza Delivery Boy!!

Scott would be more deserving than Briggs but after his dive against Wilder you would have to see him as a risk. He could very well have another heart failure in the middle of the ring.

Scott would also definitely take the fight. He's fought Glazkov, Chisora, Wilder (kind of) and Leapai so he clearly is willing to fight anyone. But I don't think HBO or RTL would want to risk another embarrassing fight like the Wilder debacle.

Which opponents have been more dangerous for Shannon Briggs??

    (1) Cab Drivers
    (2) Grocery Store Bag Boys
    (3) Cable TV Installers
    (4) Pizza Delivery Boys
    (5) Maytag Repair Men

    :huh

we had Scott as a sparring partner for 1st camp for Pulev.... I like Scott. Great guy, but doesn't stand a chance against Wlad... not so sure he takes the fight unless he really needs the cash

If Jennings doesnt accept the fight I'd be fine with a Marko Huck fight. A long reign as cruiserweight champ, and had a good outing vs. Povetkin. But im not sure if he's still under contract with Sauerland. Id also have taken Takam or Perez if they hadnt just lost, or Ortiz if he didnt get caught using steroids. Glazkov will probably go the mandatory route.

Please dont let it be Briggs, dude has been fighting bums in garages in front of 100people. Yet he has the ***** to call out Klitschko and his opponents. And as much as I'd like to see Briggs's ass kicked after all his noise, I've already seen it done by 1 Klitschko. This fight would be an utter joke and waste of time for Wladimir, doing nothing for his legacy. AT least until Briggs actually steps up and starts fighting anybody with a pulse or ranking and does that a couple of times(not gonna happen).

    Ustinov would be miles better.

Povetkin deserves a rematch , but Wlad can't win a fair fight against such a guy.

He'd be better to sit on the couch and wait for Fury than make a big show and event out of a fight with Briggs.

But if Wlad really still wanted to fight in America that bad and Jennings prices himself out, I could maybe see him tossing the line out to maybe Amir Mansour...

The way I see it , Jennings was just a ruse so K2 could make the Biggs fight with the excuse Jennings fell threw , when it probably was never on the table in the first place.

Agreed he simply doesn't have the size or weapons to ever beat any version of Wlad but he's more deserving than Briggs. Even Briggs vs Scott would be a mismatch in favour of Scott. Wlad could permanently hurt Briggs, it's not a fight anyone should want to see.

If Wlad is giving charity to old broke fighters he might as well fight Holyfield or Tua or Audley Harrison. Hopefully sense will prevail and Wlad fights Jennings or quite frankly anyone else in the top 20.
