Here's an interesting fact, Tua lived to see the final bell against Lewis, Tyson was knocked the **** out...
Tua lost, or should have lost nearly every meaningful fight of his career. Lost to Lewis, Ibeabuchi, Byrd, should have been 0-2 against Rahman. In most of his noteworthy wins he was way behind on the cards, and needed a KO to win. I don't know why people rate him so highly and favor him in so many fantasy fights. Nothing against the guy, but most of his fan base is just retarded.
:good some re****s bring up their fights with Lewis but fail to mention that Tyson despite being close to retirement put up a much better fight than Tua. Tyson Lewis was actually competeitive for 4 rounds whereas Tua in his prime was made to look a complete fool and Lewis put on a complete clinic. He even rushed head first into a ringpost while trying to launch a left hook at Lewis. Tuas resume is littered with bums and taxi drivers from the 90s
Tua was a decent fighter, not poor by any stretch of the imagination but he does get overrated quite heavily.
This would be a good fight. To be fair to Tua, this is one of the better stylistic match-ups for him, if you have to match him against heavyweights of real quality.
and a guy who will also be unloading torpedoes on his chin. Tua never stopped a single durable world class fighter his whole career, oh maybe there was Ruiz
Tua had a decent chin and could punch hard enough to hurt anyone. He's the underdog here but it's a better fight for him than Lewis, or Wlad ... or Holmes, or Ali. How many durable world class fighters did Buster Douglas stop ?
Does Tua have Buster Douglas jab, skillset, size? Tua has nothing on Douglas. Tyson would have a field day with Tua and i wouldn't be surprised if he was the first person to stop him.
I don't think this one would be any sort of chess match. I can see it breaking out into a slugfest and Tyson didn't like being fired back at. Douglas fight was example of that. Tua had the chin to go toe to toe and the left hook to hurt Mike bad. Toss up for me. Slightly leaning towards Tua
The point is, Douglas is a good example of a fighter who hardly has any decent stoppage scalps but went out at KO'd a great and durable fighter. Tua hits hard enough to stop any man he lands on. I believe Tua has a decent chance, but would be an underdog. If I had to bet I would bet on Tyson. But Tua hits hard and would be pleased to have a short guy who comes straight at him, rather than a Lennox Lewis. This would be a great fight to watch precisely because both guys would be in there in hitting range with immense firepower. Of course it's not going the distance. I don't think he'd have "a field day", it's a dangerous fight.
