Yes. That's what I was talking about when I said "carry over". Personally, I like kettlebell training, but this is as a guy that doesn't compete in a sport anymore. I also have no dissolutions as to the effects kettlebell training has upon my body. The thing is with this thread is that people, for some reason, have a hardon for kettlebells. They like the fuzzy feeling they get when they use them in their training, but they don't know the whys and hows of how to utilize them correctly within their training, they just like them for whatever reason. A guy like dealt_with knows these things and when he states his opinion/what he's been taught/learned guys start *****ing. As I said earlier, if you enjoy kettlebell training then carry on. It may be a complete waste of your time, it may not, but at least you'll be happy.
You know how many Russians use kettlebells, and there no pussies Really a soccermom could pick up a 60kg kettlebell with one hand... oh really?
You laugh but you're actually right on the money, kettlebells, TRX etc. is gimmicky training for **** PT's and soccer mums.
There's one thing it isnt and that's a waste of time, any exercise is better than none. dealt_with uses them for PT sessions so they must be ok just not for elite athletes or boxers! I dont think any of us here are elite athletes so we probably goto classes, PT sessions, gyms where this is what everyone uses to enhance there strength and fitness! :good
Strength training for weak people with little experience resistance training, for strong people with experience it's conditioning/detraining. Is it really that hard to understand?
