Wlad's resume is actually pretty good because of longevity. Quantity in this case matches quality.

    Hard question.

What's not a hard question is who will win in a H2H fight.

Prime Lewis kills any version of Wlad.

I got Lennox on 6 and Wlad on 13 at this point. I can see Wlad go in the top 10, I expect he will reign for a few more years.

Before Liston, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson and Lewis came along the Championship had only came into existence.

Its unlikely anybody will ever come along again and change the face of boxing like they did. Wlad certainly didn't , in fact he done more harm than good.

Those guys are locked in and the key is gone.

Top 10 is the top 10.

How old are you, son ?

What 'championship' are you babbling on about ?

If you mean world heavyweight boxing championships of one stripe or another, they have been around for at least 130 years.

And the list of additions to the top ten from Liston to Lewis spans a period of over 40 years.

The list is constantly changing, and that will likely continue as long as the sport persists.

Well, nobody can argue with that little gem.

Thing is, it's a completely meaningless quip.

He's beaten everybody of note who posed any serious threat.

Who, other than Vitali, should he have fought but missed ?

    Haye, Chagaev, Povetkin, Pulev, Peter...

Maybe he should fight Lewis ?

    Or Tyson ?

How about Holmes or Norton ?

Ooops... sorry. Forgot Kenny was dead.

    Ali's still alive.:think

Doubt it...tough fight to pick, but Wlad has better defense and footwork.

Lewis never showed he can get off the canvas and win. Wlad has.

It's almost impossible to tell where Wlad ranks as an atg heavyweight. He has a few things going for him such as longevity and dominance. He faces a problem though in the fact that he has arguably never beaten or faced a top 50 atg heavyweight. I would guess Chris Byrd would be borderline.

It also depends on what happens after he retires if someone like Povetkin can dominate the division after he has gone and cement himself as a top 50 heavyweight it will really help his cause.

I think one thing going against Wlad is he probably can't afford to lose within the next 2-3 years even though he could end up past his best during that period. Unfortunately for him though the level of his opposition has been very weak that he sort of has to stay dominant. One loss could see him slip back down again which would be harsh on him given his age but he hasn't fought anyone really that great.

So for me Lewis is ahead, he beat Vitali and Holyfield twice really, Tyson was past his best but he beat him also and a slew of dangerous contenders many of whom i would take to beat Wlad's best wins.

So for me it basically comes down to quantity vs quality. Of course this could all change in 10 years time it depends on what Wlad's opposition do once he is gone.
