Mundine set to get a crack at Bundrage

    Australian promoter Brian Amatruda told Fi******s.com that he has made a substantial offer to the management of IBF light middleweight champion Cornelius Bundrage (34-5, 19 KOs) to defend the title against former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony “The Man” Mundine (47-6, 27 KOs) in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia early in 2015. “I have made Bundrage a good offer and think it will be a great fight,” stated Amatruda.
    The 39-year-old Mundine is coming off an upset win over WBC #2 Sergey Rabchenko in a recent Melbourne promotion that attracted 12,000 fight fans. Earlier in the year, Mundine lost to former IBF welterweight champion Joshua Clottey and in 2013, “The Man” became the only boxer to stop Shane Mosley when they clashed in 2013.
    The 41-year-old Bundrage regained the title for the second time by outscoring reigning champ Carlos Molina over twelve rounds in October.

    Winnable fight for Choc. Could go either way but his best chance at getting a crack at the next level.

    It can only go one way - Mundine is levels above K9.

    I wish mundine luck if he gets a crack at K9..it will be mundines last chance to get his first world title..!

    I guess the question to that is what would be considered a mega fight?

    If it is Floyd, no.

    If it is Canelo or Cotto, probably.

    For any other fighter (top 10 ring magazine wise), definitely!

    Hmm I see the appeal for Mundine - fight an olderr guy for a legit world belt - but a K9 fight won't be easy. K9 is ALWAYS the underdog and he usually wins. He is battle tested and he is a cagey old bugga. Not sure who would be the bookies favourite here as Mundine ain't no spring chicken either.

    Mundine just put a beating on another young lion trying to make his name, why would an old, smaller man like Bundrage be favourite?

    Mundine is going to be a world champion again and humble Australia once more, he will breathe life back in to Australian boxing one more time!
