Floyd also called out the winner of Martinez-Williams II, but when Martinez sparked out Williams, he said that Martinez should fight Andre Dirrell.

Roach is obviously chasing the big money fights when talking about the next opponent but when pressed about fighting Williams he said they would fight him at 147. within a week or so Williams got knocked out.

Youtube is blocked here at work but I assume it shows what you are saying. I did a google search and found that in June 2010, Paul Williams said he was moving back to welterweight so he could fight either Pac or Mayweather. The fight didn't happen so my point remains. If Mayweather ducked Williams, Pac did too.

 

Floyd says a lot of things he doesn't mean.

 

Crawford is doing exactly what Broner did a few years back

Beat up small superfeatherweights/lightweights

Granted Crawford is better than Broner and has so far fought better competition but he had a handfull with Gamboa and didnt look too exciting in beating Beltran.

Crawford should be targeting the likes of Matthysse/Provodnikov/Garcia if he wants a Pacquiao showdown

 

Pacquiao should really be targeting Kell Brook / Maidana but instead hes fighting light welterweights.

Last Welterweight Pacquiao fought in his prime was Miguel Cotto (Not including Bradley due to himself not beating a fellow Welterweight since robbing the belt from Pac in the first place)

 

Thoughts/Comments Here:

1. I think, despite it being easy to complain about Algieri and Rios, that Arum (and not Pac) picks Pac's opponents, and with little more than a consultation with him.

2. I think, no matter what, that Floyd will pick the best "PPV name" that will be at least 12 lbs. lighter than he is at fight time. He tends towards that. BTW, why not- if they want a shot at him?

3. I don't have a real basis of belief about Floyd ducking Pac or visa versa. There's too much WE don't really know. If ducking is going to show up, though, now is when we will actually learn about it- when the clock is clearly running out on that particular fight.
