The point a boxer can fight a defensive negative fight and survive. And it happens all the time in boxing. Pacquaio-Barrera 2 for instance. It's harder to KO someone when they aren't giving countering opportunities and are only looking to counter themselves.

There were a few average fighters who went the distance with Hearns at 154.

I understand that, but it's also hard to win these type of fights also and to some extent it depends on the work rate of both fighters. As a general rule, that more aggressive fighter is going to win, if for no other reason then the judges can't really tell if every punch the defensive fighter has coming at him is being blocked or not.

Hey guys, while I,m at it... Pryor eats up PBF at 140,and I mean bad !! Benitez problem was lack of focus and a bit chinny at times. He,d be amped for Floyd and his chin wouldn,t be an issue against Floyd either...

If Mosley caught Benitez with the same punches he hit Floyd with, Benitez would be laid flat.

I don't know about all that. and neither do you. Benitez had a pretty good chin. Mosley would get schooled by Benitez anyway and I think you know this, you're just kind of throwing this out there for no reason?

I think this is a 50/50 fight, depends on who has the better gameplan on the given night.. Benitez is one of the few that could match Floyd in most categories, and is also the harder hitter & more unorthodox. Really this is too hard of a fight to call

Floyd has it covered in handspeed, reflexes, jab, counterpunchung, chin, technique and general professionalism. Floyd would win this fight every time. Fighters who lay back look awful against Floyd (see the Canelo and Marquez fights, a duo that would trouble Benitez).

See all of those areas could be argued in Benitez's favor too. You are pretty biased here. Marquez and Canelo would be easy for Benitez. general professionalism... lol.. FOH with that bs.

Benitez has a great jab, reflexes, counterpunching, chin, and technique. Speed is the only thing Floyd could really have an edge in, and even then its pretty even. They are even in every category. Benitez is the harder hitter.

You don't know boxing if you think Benitez has chin and counterpunchung like Mayweather, also supported by your fondness for a chinless wonder named Tommy. That much is unarguable.

The fact that you would even mention Canelo and Marquez against a fighter of Benitez,s caliber, speaks volumes. Did you know that Beitez beat a great fighter in Kid Pambele Cervantes at 17 ? And then Palomino for the 147 lbs belt. Floyd NEVER fought anyone of Benitez caliber and he certainly never fought the high level of opposition either... Baldomir, Maidana, old Mosley !! And you know boxing ??

Counterpunching goes to Benitez. I agree counterpunchung goes to Floyd ;) As for Tommy, Hearns by murder during the staredown. Ref stops it due to Floyd, soiling himself trying to look up at the Hitman !

Blah blah blah. Chin wouldnt really be a factor here since this fight would likely go the distance - floyd wouldnt be able to hurt benitez so your point is moot.

Benitez is a great counterpuncher himself - definitely a skilled operator. Youre acting like there is some kind of gulf in class here when there isn't.

Also im not a fan of tommy morrison so nice try. You're reaching. You're the 1000th person to think of something like that.

The problem is that Benitez minimally improved after age 17, which is why he got a beatdown by Hamsho and Moore (hit the floor before the injury) in his early twenties. As painful as it might be for you to admit, Floyd's resume ****s all over Benitez's unless you (1) pretend clear cut loses to fighters are as good as wins and (2) pretend a very beatable 154 pound Duran counts like he was in Montreal.
