Think brophy - blackledge has been spoken about a few times. I believe they've done a little sparring in the last year or so two , maybe billy can confirm this. Defo rate either brophy or blackledge to get a win over frank tbh,
Also because Daves a very active promotor with some ambition and vision , he puts on more shows in a calendar month than alex does in a year
Pea heed lol if a boxer doesn't cover the wages for both his and opponents purses they generally wont get on the show and that's generally the case with all small hall shows. Mohammad has been offered to several promoters but for the above reasons the promoters aren't prepared to take a punt on him, they would simply lose money on his fight time and time again until he won something
That's all wrong, so basically you may be the best unknown talent in the world but if you aren't popular you've no chance of getting out frequently on a small hall show. I know these guys need to make money but surely they should be looking at talent aswell to develop who simply cannot sell tickets for one reason or another. But we know ticket sellers do well regardless of talent, look at Buglioni he will get sparked again the minute he faces someone decent.
sponsorship has nothing to do with purses earned by the fighters, in most cases promoters will find a sponsor and that would offset against the running costs of the show. all my fighters have sponsors who help in one way or another again that's nothing to do with the cost of a fight and wages being paid to the respective fighters
I know that its different, the point I was trying to make is in Mohammed's case till he builds up a following if he had enough sponsors who paid him per fight, it would cover his costs and give him a wee wage for fighting, that way even if a promoter don't pay him they would surely put on their bill. Not ideal situation but would let him showcase his ability, and build a wee fanbase up
I know a boxer in England who fought for free on four occasions because he never sold enough tickets, shame on his promoter a lad training, dieting and taking punches for no reward. Mohammad sold 11 tickets for his last fight I sold the rest to get him on and Paul Graham couldn't have helped him any more to be fair
