So i am trolling as my opinion differs? Don't think so mate got better things to do with my time.

Nobody making a big deal about him being dropped either, just stati g facts.

I Stand by my opinion that the pair of them are bang average, we shall see how it pans out and I look forward to us discussing this again mate.

I said that I wasn't sure if you were just trolling because there are so much people on here that just like to wind up and not actually discuss properly!

I think it will be hard for anyone to tell if these lads will be below average/average/above average until we see how they adapt to the pro game, there have been loads of boxers who have been much worse than these 2 in the amateurs who have had very long and illustrious pro careers and there have been boxers who have boxed at a higher lever than Joe or Charlie who have done nothing in the pro game.

I respect all opinions from everyone and I look forward to discussing this in the future and hopefully i'm right!! haha

Well in Flynns case he has a few major advantages to succeed, 1) He has good ability 2)He does not need to switch trainer from Amateurs as he is trained by Peter Harrison, who is an expert trainer in pros and amateurs (so no bedding in with a new coach) 3) He has spent last couple of years sparring/training regularly with Scott Harrison and Willie Limond, which no doubt will help him big time in his transition to the pro game

The one thing any fighter needs is a bit of a dig in the pro game, im not talking about KO punching ability but enough that your opponent knows your there, with regards to having a good chin or not obviously tightening your defence will help but if you haven't got a chin your gonna get found out eventually

Wanted to go to this but then had a look at the ticket selling website. £50 Buffet or £90 meal. What the ****? What's wrong with having it in a small arena - selling tickets for £15-£50 and getting a proper boxing crowd in. Really don't like this smart dress only, meal accompanyment stuff. Save that ****e for your local golf club

What happened to Slowey's original opponent, Ramabeletsa? That was the best fight on the card.

I would like to see that fight back on, but over 10 or at least 8 rounds next time. :D

I could not agree with you more.

I've never been to a dinner boxing show but from a distance IMO there's something wrong with having your tea whilst two guys hit lumps out of each other.

Nothing wrong with making a wee effort and looking reasonably smart mind but certainly not a prerequisite of getting through the door it's not a night club.

Your suggested price bracket is correct too.

Been to a few recent shows at the Lagoon in Paisley and they are excellent small hall shows

I've been to many a show, both small hall & bigger events, and always wear jeans & shirt with shoes/boots - unless ringside then I'll stick on some trousers , reckon I'll be sound here in a pair of jeans? I'll be disappointed if not tbh ..

anyone else attend this last night? thankfully i only paid £50 for the buffet ticket because i wasnt impressed with the quality of boxing on show.

charlie flynn boxed ok but there was nothin that makes me think he can become a force at even brittish level. how on earth he won commonnwealth gold ill never know
ryan smith was teh classiest boxer on show. he looked very sharp and i would love to see him vs charlie flynn. he would beat charlie imo
stuart burt hasnt improved in 3 years. he won teh bout but didnt impress me at all and i see him gettin beat by a decent journeyman
jon slowey is another one who imo has gone backwards big time. i noticed billy doing his corner but he hasnt managed to improve him. jon was lucky to get the win. if billy manages to get jon to win a british title that would be his biggest achevement
jamie mcgiure did ok aganst al hamidi but i wasnt impressed by him. he ll be lucky to get a scottish title imo
scott alan is too small for the weight and will get bashed up by a good journeyman. he needs to lose the bulk and box at flyweight. all that muscle might look nice for the girls but he wont win titles with it
joe ham was teh other impresive boxer there amd he showed that he has a bit of class and the only one tonight thta has a bit of extra class. he never let his opponont get into teh fight and looked explosive. one to watch imo and i will buy tickets to watch him in the futur.

maybe i was expectin too much but i felt relly let down with a couple of the boxers i heard would be top boys but tbh i havent been exited about much of our boxers at the minute. i hope josh taylor turns over soon because he has star quality imo.

how do othres rate the boxing on show last nite?

mate can you tell me in the 4 rounds apart from the right hand that disorinatated jon when hit on the very top of the head did he get hit/ in fairness to jon I cant see how the ref gave the other guy a share of a round let alone give him a round
I just love to know how on earth you think he lost:nono:nono you reading of a fight is very very poor indeed
Burt boxed well as did Smith

lol billy you relly get behind your fighters but jon wasnt impresive last night. the ref had it to jon by 1 round but imo jon looked caught between styles. he struggled to command the ring and on a neutral show jon could have lost the decision.
ryan boxed very well last night. who do you rate higher? him or charlie flynn?
i never seen anythin in stuarts performance to make me think he will go very far but i have been wrong in the past. not as much as you though lol

stuart had by far the hardest opponent last night
Yes I agree Jon is in between styles but he never lost a round last night, Jon is improving and will improve considerably over the coming months
