Funny listening to some of these hateful little men trying to bash Calzaghe. For years he got ignored stateside cause nobody wanted to fight him and was brought up with a style European fighters don't normally have and had speed and abilities even fighters from America could only wish to have. Did I mention he's European? That's the main reason he gets shafted on this forum.

It's hard to be great when no one wants to fight you. Frank War.ren made some offers to Hopkins and Jones. They were never interested. And why the hell is the name War.ren censored?

Hopkins defo ducked Calzaghe in 2002 according to the late Jay Larkin of Showtime RIP , to tell the truth Calzaghe scared the then Middleweight Hopkins that ****less Hops stayed @ middle and fought Morrade Hakker in his next fight

In all fairness to Roy though he had moved onwards and upwards to better things around the time a fight with Calzaghe was being talked about and another thing i will give both Roy & Joe credit for is they both didn't bother with promoters when they set their bout up it was just a money making project with each of them clearing an estimated $ 10 million each split straight down the middle , imo their fight meant nothing in boxing terms as BOTH were over the hill by the time
    they fought .

No it ain't , Hopkins v Calzaghe in 2002 was agreed to take place in America . Previously to that Calzaghe had fought all over the world as an am and Denmark & Germany as a pro . But Dont let your ignorance get in the way of your argument just blindly keep plugging away . :good

I completely forgot that Bernard Hopkins was the only boxer on the planet . No when I meant travel I meant to the states where all the big names were but seems your ignorance made you forget that ! Nice try though !:hi:

this is a joke, joe fought anyone he considered a remote threat in his own backyard (that's two names, Kessler and lacey), he never went to their backyard once. he considered Hopkins shot2****, that's why he dared face him in America. look at the surprise on joes face when it dawned on him that Hopkins was still pretty good and was on course to beat him until bern gassed out. joe looked like he going to cry cos he thought hes screwed up picking someone still semi-live without his welsh ref to save him.

joe was never going to fight prime Hopkins in America, just like he always talked about fighting the road warrior, antwun echols, prime roy jones etc etc (IE ANYONE VERY DECENT OR ABOVE) but then NEVER fought them.
in place of them he fought a string of subnational bums...not just someone decent but specifically subnational bums, how incredibly insulting to his fans to boast top names but then go SUB national instead.

"fought over the world" really shouldnt include beating up subnational bums who shouldda been fighting for regional titles. but sadly for Calzaghe and his fans,it does.

when the truth dawns on you cal****s that he ****ed on you, the shiit is gonna hit the fan. middle aged crisis, it mght take that long.

I wish i could understand what you are attempting to say , all I know is Boreeennneee Hopkins ducked Joe then skipped 168 lbs totally hiding until he got his **** kicked by a white boy in front of all his homies in his own back yard , with three yank judges and a yank ref who protected him from getting a bigger **** whooping than he got . Tell me when did either Hopkins or Jones ever fight abroad ? It's only now that Jones ever did whilst he's getting punched for pay whilst bore u Hopkins is a defo stay at home homie .

Wanted Jones for the longest right he campaigned at 175 ..There were a ton of names just a division north of 168 .

Please stop with all the so called guys who didn't want to fight him ..

No one was talking about the 168 like that anymore that's why all the top guys went to light heavy .. When Joe and Otteke ran that division it was awful ! The meaningful fights were at 175 !
