Benitez did fight some great opponents and HE LOST TO THEM. Floyd is a great fighter and Benitez would lose to him too.

Thats a $h!tty way to ****yze this fight since benitez and floyd would be equally matched here.

Also its worth considering that floyd is not on leonard's or hearns' level at 147/154

Specifically what fights are you basing this conclusion on? Cause I'd like to watch them.

Floyd would LOSE to Hearns,SRL and Duran. Funny thing is that Floyd would never put the pen to a contract with TRUE great fighters of this caliber...

If you lump in the Hamsho fight and Moore, this pretty much proves my point... That was not vintage Benitez... His prime wa woefully brief, lack of adequate training lifestyle coupled with the fact that he actually fought great fighters. He certainly didn,t cherrypick like someone else we know ;) Floyd,s `resume ` ? Please give me Floyd,s signature victory against a great fighter ,in their prime and at their best weight ????? This is when Floyd,s `fans` go silent...147 lbs of Duran,Hearns and SRL BEAT Floyd... Referencing Benitez age and saying he was still prime, your not getting it. He won his first title at 17,he peaked early. You DO get that some fighters peak early regardless of age, right ?? Lopez,Pryor,Benitez Tyson,McLarnin etc...

Lets try this again... Can ANYONE give me Floyd,s signature victory which shows that he belongs in the conversation in H2H mythical fights against true ATG,s ??Pleas not Baldomir, small Marquez, green catchweight Canelo way past primed Mosley ...

What's Benitez's then? You have three wins to hold on to, and none of them are better than Floyd's first tier wins.

Stll no answer about who,s PBF,s signature win ? AGAIN the room stays silent...What we hold on to is Benitez being THE youngest champ, ever ! And against a true champion who went on to win the belt again after Bentitez went up and defeated ANOTHER true champion in Palomino. Please read up on who Cervantes was ... Plus, little more reading for you. Benitez losing to Hearns,SRL and beating Duran far surpasses any of Floyd,s `legendary` victory,s...H2H at 140-147 prime Benitez outboxes Floyd with superior height, reach, bodywork and ring savvy earned by actually fighting TRUE champions at their best...

Okay, I'm done. You just claimed that Benitez's sound loses to Hearns and Leonard and win over a faded Duran outshine Floyd's best wins. you're too nostalgia driven to warrant any further discussion. You can have it your way though. While you're at it, you can reason with yourself that Starling, Locche, and Mancini would also beat Floyd.

The beauty of this frame of thought is that there's no consequence. Everyone was better when you had more hair on your head and less of a gut. If you existed in contemporary times and reasoned that Hatton, Mosley, Gatti, Canelo, Oscar, Marquez etc. were duck-worthy opponents who would finally "expose" Floyd if given the chance, you'd face the burden of having to come up with excuses for what transpired. It's easier to pretend that a guy 50+ spots higher than Floyd on the ATG ratings with questionable dedication and lazy fundamentals would give Floyd a boxing lesson because he notched a nice win when he was 17.

Nostalgia ?? Sorry I actually know my boxing. Do you even know who Kid Pambele Cervantes,Carlos Palomino ,or Mo Hope are ?? You are stuck in the delusional present. Anyone with even a limited amount of boxing knowledge would tell you that Benitez at 140 was a true phenom. To further show your `intelligence`. You trot out the legendary names of Gatti, Hatton washed up Mosley,Canelo and Marquez as marquee opponents ?? Against the likes of Duran,Leonard,Hearns and Cervantes ??? More evidence of boxing `acumen`... A washed up Duran who after his over the hill loss to Benitez... You DO realize that SRL and Hearns would destroy Floyd !H Went on to win two more titles !! Floyd would not have even won a title in the era of Hearns,Leonard,Duran and Pryor much lees protect that phony 0. And, as for nostalgia, these TRUE greats were fighting not so long ago. The fighters you metioned that Floyd `beat`, would probably KO,d by Thomas Hearns in one night...As for hair and gut my feeble minded friend... No response needed, other than to say your give us all many chuckles on here. So, keep up with your fabulous insights ;) FYI, Pryor,Hearns,Leonard beat your boy, easy...

Mayweather would also lose to Leonard, Hearns and Hamsho.

The fight is tough to call, however. A chessmatch/stinker between two safety first spoilers trying to goad/con the other into leading. It wouldn't be pretty. Toss a coin.
