According to everything I see online, the fight is signed, sealed and delivered, but who knows.

Ive seen fights called off at the last minute before

This would be my concern. It's a waste of a somewhat intriguing heavyweight title fight and that makes it a big waste for boxing as a whole. This should be a big, well-hyped affair and where is that going to come from with this amount of time? Stiverne's coming off a very fan-friendly fight, he'll have a guy with a great looking record on paper from America, with a history of being an action fighter himself. This should be enormous stuff, right here, with any halfway decent promotional strategy. If there was any doubt that Don King lost his ****e, it's this.

Little confused as to why this fight is in vegas, wilder is essentially nobody at the moment and stiverne I assume is a decent draw in Canada but relatively unknown in the US

Stiverne trains in Vegas and has lived in the US for the last decade.

Im not sure if hes ever even fought in Canada

edit: He has fought twice in Canada

How is this fight not official when they're supposed to have it in JANUARY? I'm starting to think this fight won't be made at all. Something really fishy is going on here.

I bet Al Haymon is busy negotiating with Chagaev or some other WBA bum so Wilder can get an interim belt and avoid Stiverne.

Going to be a lot of empty seats at the MGM for this one regardless.

Wilder has been constantly tweeting about fighting Stiverne for the WBC belt.

He seems to be very nmuch of the mindset that hes fighting Stivrne

When DON KING is involved gotta be careful

Don King was against this fight from the beginning! ... Wbc pushed it

Without Don Kings existence this fight would have happened already!

The fight is 1 month and 1 week away.
Both guys are training hard, but we have yet to hear any Promotions for the First North American Heavyweight Title Fight in close to 10 years.
    No mention of Undercard.
    No Press Conferences scheduled.

I expected more from Haymon and King. But absolutely nothing is quite strange.

Will this fight be delayed by an "unexpected" Injury from Wilder?

    discuss

    Yeah, why not?

If Khan buys $50k trunks, Floyd burns money and Broner wants to do something simular as his hero and flushes it through the toilet, then why can't a network trow money away by promoting an event wich pretty likely won't happen?! Makes perfect sense. :yep

This fight likely won't happen. Wilder's people know their fraud with the built-up record would get his glass jaw shattered by Stiverne.

Why cash out this hype job against Stiverne, when you can hold out and maybe hype a way into a Klitschko fight for bigger money?

This is what Wilder's people were always trying to do - feed this joke a bunch of stiffs and build the hype and then cash out for as much money as possible.
