Yep I think Quigg is dying to fight him

but people rate Frampton higher, I just think his team are ducking Quigg for a reason.

    one champion per organisation

    WBA champion Rigo

if people start recognising regular champions then they might as well start recognising the IBO, WBF,WBU world champions too

Not with the WBA, they have an interim champion in almost every division, and their no.1 ranking spot is left vacant in all division that don't. They also have 2 champions in most divisions, with this being labelled as either 'Super', 'Unified', 'Undisputed' or 'Regular', now surely you can't take someone seriously as a 'World champion' if they are the lesser champion of the same organisation ?

For instance no one treats the WBC Silver champion as a real World champion, but it's effectively the equivalent belt as the WBA Regular champion, so really they should be held in the same regard.

I'll agree with you Billy, that he is somewhat one dimensional. But that dimension was enough to beat Jhonathon Romero, Jeffrey Mathebula and Hozumi Hasegawa, that's a reigning World champion, a former World champion and a former 2 weight World champion, and they're all extremely good fighters, not mugs by any regard. If it was really that easy to beat him, why couldn't any of those fighters do it ?

right, i misunderstood what you were getting at. however it's dressed up though, i, and it appears most others, consider rigo as their (and the) champ.

Can't see any Quigg fight being box office so surely that's irrelevant and don't think sky would turn down Frampton if he wanted to fight on Sky either so not sure why that gives Quigg a right to a 50/50 split.

Frampton brings the gate and a larger amount of viewers so has to get the lions share.

Whilst the WBA Regular Title is classed as a world title, I think most people know it really isn't.

It's not a dig at Quigg but there are 4 world titles, its ridiculous for a governing body to have 2 world champions.

Hold on a minute, you have missed something out. It is not that the fight has fell through during negotiations, it is fact team Frampton wont enter negotiations ! On another not pre Frampton having a belt Quigg said he would still agree to a 50/50 split. Now Framptons bills in Belfast had lowest viewing figures on Sky, compared to all other bills, and as for Crowd I agree Frampton has more fans than Quigg, but regardless Quigg could sell out the MEN arena for fight (bigger than any venue in Ulster)

Maybe one of the reason folk knock wee Quigg is they're not sold on his fake 'world title'. The idea that a fight with Frampton is a 'unification' between two world champs is a joke.

One is a world champ the other isn't. So the split shouldn't be 50-50. This 'world champ' nonsense is probably what is stopping Quigg from getting the big fights.

As far as I am aware Frampton is free to deal with any tv company his last fight was the last fight on his contract with Boxnation. Now Barry is in a strong position. We could well see Sky Sports coming in with a deal like they did with George Groves or to some extent the deal in them getting Amir Khan just think for the fight with Avalos more chance it being on normal Sky makes sense then building up a Quigg fight will be easy. Saying all that Quigg needs to take on a good hard fight before a fight with Frampton. Get him in with a Kiko a legit banger or a fight with Kid both would be Quiggs hardest fight in my opinion but I just think they are protecting him for this big pay day against Frampton. I guess time will tell who knows what will happen after Framptons next fight we could well see Frampton v LSC happening before a Quigg fight.

I agree with you about Kiko...often overlooked and not given half enough credit. Also don't forget he mowed down Bernard Dunne too....and all this as a tiny Superbantam, and did all this on the road too...really Kiko is underappreciated.

Indeed they are " keeping him safe" for the big money showdown versus Carl. Whether this is wise remains to be seen.
