...says a guy who's never fought one big name/legit threat....ever. Just sour g****s from a bum who fights bums and is lucky to be on Khan's undercard at such a mega event.
I meant he's a bit hypocritical in what he's saying about someone who became an olympic silver medallist at a young age, a unified world champion and has beaten many big names as seen on his resume. Look at who he's comparing himself to and calling overrated. I'd love to see these two face off in the ring or Thurman at least test himself against a threat before making such judgements about a fighter who's accolades speak for himself. And guys call Amir for being arrogant and ****y when he speaks from his own confidence.
W UD - Diaz (razor close decision in a war where Khan was dropped) W UD - Collazo (blowout decision where Collazo was dropped multiple times) He certainly ranks below Bundu, Alexander, and Guerrero's of the world.
khan has done well for himself, but maybe thurman feels he can say that because he is also doing well and hes never been knocked silly. as far as great fighters go, khan and his record are not all that impressive, and nothing thurman said even comes close to some of the stuff that comes out of khans mouth. dont take this stuff so personal.
Nothing personal at all but likewise we can say the same thing about Thurman and his record and level of opposition. I'm not biased on any fighter but people mistake confidence for arrogance. If you're not confident about yourself as a fighter then you're in the wrong sport - it's what fighters do. Ali, Tyson all the greats did, despite being knocked silly by Frazier or Douglas. Am I right or not?
actually, we do say the same thing about thurman, its just that thurman hasnt yet needed to make excuses for not living up to his self hype. confidence and arrogance are not that hard to distinguish. confidence is saying what youre going to do and then doing it. arrogance is saying what youre going to do then making excuses for why you couldnt do it.
Actually Thurman did acknowledge that Khan is deserved to be in main event, and get opportunity to face Mayweather ahead of him [YT]b4EUkFT_e-E[/YT]
Trust me, no hating on Keith, I like him as a fighter. But as soon he suffers his first loss, whether it be against legitimate opponent or another journeyman, don't tell me we won't hear any excuses. Karass of all people rocked him and I was very surprised to see that. Right now he's exuding green and guys like him get exposed in the big leagues all the time.
